hellonwheelz3 Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Michael Jackson was awfully strange, and at times just gross, but he was a person and one helluva entertainer. He will be missed. God rest his soul.
Rob Hall Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 I wasn't a huge fan, but he was definitely a big deal when I was growing up, back when MTV actually showed music videos and was a lot of fun.
B_rad88 Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 how cares about him, i rather talk about farrah fawcett death, than that ugly shmo!
RJWood Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 (edited) Not just Mr. Jackson but Farrah Fawcett also died today. In the span of about 2 weeks we have lost David Carradine, Ed McMahon. Farrah, and Michael. RIP. Edited June 26, 2009 by RJWood
Guest Mustang3.8 Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 how cares about him, i rather talk about farrah fawcett death, than that ugly shmo! I agree with you on that one, Brandon. I don't wanna offend any MJ fans on here, but I never cared for that guy at all! One actor I really miss is Jim Varney.
Abell82 Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 how cares about him, i rather talk about farrah fawcett death, than that ugly shmo! I don't wish to speak ill of the dead, but...I don't understand how his death can be bigger news then Farrah's. She had twice the class that he had. I think that this must surely be a sign of the Apocalypse!! R.I.P. Farrah, you will be missed.

Farrah, you will be missed. Well, he had a massive, global fan base and was the biggest pop star of the '80s...sold a lot of music. Kind of like how Elvis was to his generation, but likely bigger in terms of sales. Having grown up in the MTV era, he was everywhere for a few years there. Huge. Not really my thing, though, I was (and am still) more into rock... Sadly, with these events happening the same day, Farrah is a footnote on the news tonight. Edited June 26, 2009 by Rob Hall
cruz Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Farrah was a nobody compared to this icon guys, I mean, he was a weird guy but there's no denying his talent and how hugely popular and famous this guy was. What really gets to me is the men crying at his concerts, talk about weird!!!!
MikeMc Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Two words: FREAK SHOW... Add one more TALENTED FREAK SHOW... never cared for him but Thrillar is still the #1 selling pop album of all time.....
kingiguana Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 No great loss to me, he was a total freak ! Its just funny how celebrities die in groups.
HotRodaSaurus Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 I think its a loss to the entertainment world when any personality dies young or old. What I cant understand is how people take it personally as if they were family members, crying!!!!!! Its a bit retro to when Princess Di was killed. Just how well did this guy affect your life? He took your money and entertained you with his music but I doubt if he knew you were feeling down he would comfort you in your hour of need. Most of these personalities were getting on for 'has beens', Memory leaves us their greatest moments, Farrah for Charlies Angels, Elvis in 1956, Michael Jackson will always be remembered as great in the 80s but now? Sure they(Farrah & Michael) will be remembered, but missed! I love Elvis, but only his music, I remember the announcement of his death, but did it affect me? not really, I just had to get on with my life. I have just heard on the UK news, the organisers are not sure how to deal with the tickets for his concerts sold to fans, I thought that was obvious! give them there money back! John
Guest Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 I am really surprised at everyone's insensativity here. I myself thought at the last he was quite strange, but I still feel sorry that he has passed. And I also grieve for his family as they are in grief. It is always sad when someone passes. Think about more than just the fact you think he is weird people.
gasman Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 I grew up in the 80's and the 90's, and when I was younger Michall Jacksons music played a big role in my life. yea, he was a wierdo in real life. but he was fantastic as a performer. I have alot of respect for Farrah, especially that she was'nt affraid to show what the cancer she had had done to here, I feel bad she passed on the same day as Micheal. but with that said I was too young to remember Farrah, but seeing those old Michael Jackson videos on MTV brings back memories of my youth
FujimiLover Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Let's not forget Dom Delouise as I had mentioned him passing away in my Cannonball Run thread. Dom passed away a few months ago and he was one of the best comedians I think. They were all great entertainers weather or not you liked his/her style. Sad to see so many actors/actress's passing away in one year.
MrObsessive Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Not much more to add about Michael Jackson-----'cept to say that love him or hate him, he DID have an impact on the pop music scene. I can still remember seeing him with the Jackson 5 perform for the first time on American Bandstand on a Saturday in 1969. Yeah I know that makes me kinda old! That's loooooong before cable's thousand and one channels. I liked Farrah Fawcett, but HATED that Charlies Angels TV show! The only interesting (and funny) moment watching that show was during the summer of '77 when NY City had that major blackout. The feed for the show was coming from NY, and when the power went out, Farrah (Jill) was saying something and the screen just froze with her mouth open! I remember laughing saying "Talk about a dumb blonde! " (No blonde jokes please!)
FujimiLover Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Let's give her credit for "Beauty" in Cannonball Run, she was great in that as well. My favorite "Angel" was Jaclyn Smith. "Hope I've spelled her name right!"
guiwee Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 how cares about him, i rather talk about farrah fawcett death, than that ugly shmo! Its all opinionated anyway.Like it or not MJ was and still is an icon in his chosen field. His death was sudden.Farahs was expected as terminal cancer usually is.

Okay Ill tell you how.Hes been in the news throughout his whole career and has made probably millions more than her.Although Farah had her time in the late 70s and early 80s in her chosen field. In the 90s and new millenia shes a "hollywood has-been".This is in no way taking anything from her success. She was good for her time...as her field is always focusing on the next big thing. You cant stay beautiful forever. Michael on the other hand owns the rights to the beatles.has affected peoples lives on all 7 continents. Is a legend in the music industry. like bogart was to film.Plus hes very eccentric which keeps him in the news.I forgot about farah when she stopped being the bionic women(lol) All jokes aside they both will be missed!!!!
Lyle Willits Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 .I forgot about farah when she stopped being the bionic women(lol) All jokes aside they both will be missed!!!! You have your old blondes mixed up. Lindsey Wagner was the Bionic Woman.
