lordairgtar Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 (edited) yes, I have had it with the doo doo from that other model mag site. Every other month they request re setting the password or user name. And it doesn't work that easily. I emailed them to remove my account info from the forum and never bother me again with their lame site. Nothing works unless you go through hoops like posting links and such. I'm gone....I even deleted them from my tool bar. It's a shame because I like the people in the forums there. roadhawg Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 ....It's a shame because I like the people in the forums there. And a lot of them keep showing up here. Its a little more laid back here, for sure! Good to see ya!
Guest Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 Hey Gregg, glad you are here. Tommy is right, far more laid back and friendly, and no one to make you block out the General Lee's flag.
george 53 Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 (edited) Greg, sorry you had to give up the freinds you made there, but, WHY don't you just invite them HERE? When SA re-did their forum, I tried to log on, an they said I no longer existed in their files! I NEVER logged OUT, so how did they LOOSE me? Oh Well, no big loss,as I consider THIS my home. I've had the pleasure of knowin quite a few guys from here, and they DO feel like freinds. Heck , when I met Gregg at the Toledo NNL last year, after we shook hands an introduced myself, he said, "Oh, I remember you"" I had some trouble once loggin in after my Comp died, an he hooked me up, then I bought a 67 Vette from him off'n E-modelcars, so it made me feel REAL good to here him say that! REALLY made me feel like we were freinds! I've met Anthony Rios(MR.BIGGS) And Santiago Hernandez (Mr. 1/16th) who is DISTANTLY RELATED,(we're both Hernandez's, so we GOTTA share some blood, somewhere down the line!)AND Mr. Obssesive HIMSELF, who happens to be a GREAT guy an Capt.Black, an Ed Shaver, and YOU! And that's just a START! I've made ALOT of freinds here. This IS the best model car website that I've found, period! I'm glad you've decided to stay, caz your a GREAT member, an besides, we DO share the same birthday, and I like ya ta boot! So welcome HOME my Brother, an please, don't ever stray far from it AGAIN!!!! Edited June 30, 2009 by george 53
BigGary Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 (edited) While I definately think the MCM forum is superior to the "Other One", I'm at a loss to understand why ya'll are having so much trouble. I've been a member of that forum for 2 years without any problems. Go figure... Gary Edited June 30, 2009 by BigGary
Jon Cole Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 I never bothered with the SA board. Actually, when I see reference to "the other" board, I thought it meant the Spotlight board.
59 Impala Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 I too was on SA for a long time, but since they changed their forum, I had such a hard time looking at the pictures because they're to big for the screen since they put the adds on the right side, I just got so frustrated, I took their site off my favorites and haven't gone back since. I too like the people on there, but the hassles logging on and bringing up the pictures done it for me. I like here, BnB, and Modelers Haven. All three are great places to go and alot of friendly people. That's my story and I'm stickin to it. Dan

All three are great places to go and alot of friendly people. That's my story and I'm stickin to it. Dan I've been here for quite some time, but SA members had some insight to new stuff coming along a lot quicker it seemed to me. I could be wrong, though, just my thoughts. I like Modeler's haven because of the quizzes. I will spend a considerable amount of time finding those cars. I like this place because it is like family, or Ohana as Gregg calls it. Not too thrilled with Hobby Heaven's site just because of the way the board is laid out. Some might find it quaint, but i find it annoying. My beef with SA is that I get these flags when I log on wanting me to redo my pass or user name. I should not EVER have to do that unless they had a problem with a server crashing or some such thing. I have not yet received an email from them yet, but I am sure one of their minions will do that soon enough. Being in the same metro area that Kalmbach is in, and that Mr Haught is a member of our local model club, I am sure my decision will soon come to bite me in the caboose. Too bad Kalmbach chooses not to give SA the same operating budget they give Model Railroader and Finescale Modeler, because it truly could be something good. Being really busy during the summer with my DJ business and car show art and the benevolent association I help out plus my crappy job, I really shouldn't have to jump through hoops to spend some leisure time online.

Invite them all over here! There are plenty of people already here who got fed up with SA's site and/or forum for one reason or another (like me!). And besides... since all the SA writers (or a lot of them, at least) have already made the move to MCM, it would make sense for the forum members over there to make the move, too.

Guest promodmerc Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 But let JH stay there.....we don't need any more "moderators" That statement should be: We don't need a Nazirator
