I have been working on this on and off for some time now and thought I'd share it with everyone here. I still have a lot of stuff to do on it, but I think it's coming along pretty good.

Let know what you all think of it so far.

I replaced the 360 with a 440 6 pack.

Looks good so far. With that hood and bead locks, it kinda reminds me of those SODA, or SCORE racers they run on those closed course tracks.

Well I took this model back out of the box and started working on it and got around to putting some paint on it. Take a look and let and let me know what you think? Still trying different wheels on it to see what looks best.

Great looking truck

Paint looks great too.

I haven't seen any blue and white ones b-4.

Seen a red and white one tho :lol:

Yeah for some reason every time I looked at the truck thinking what color I wanted to paint it, I just kept coming up with the blue & white combo that I did. And thanks for all off the feed back guys!!

I like the wheels in the 1st photo too, but I only have 4 of them and I want to put in a bed mounted spare and leave the tail gate off. I guess I could buy another set of those wheels?

Next month our model clubs theme is going to be Mopar!! So I got this truck back out and started working on it again and I'm working on the exhaust system and thinking of something like this?

And I did a little work on the bed.

Still looking great.

Nice flow thru tail gate and tire rack.

I think the Mufflers look too big.

maybe some smaller ones?

AMTs Pro-street RoadRuner/GTX had some smaller Flowmaster looking ones.

This is the way they were on my 1:1

(yes, the T-case is placed wrong but too late now. LOL.)

I believe 74 was the last year for a divorced T-case.

75 and Up were married..(mine was a 75)

Nice work, Tuffone. You would'nt happen to have any spare Dodge long box parts? All's I need is the box, tailgate, and tail lights.

Thanks, I'll have to look and see what else I have as I don't have that kit. I'm hoping this time around I can get this one done. ;)

tuffone20/Marty, great job! The paint looks great, the colors are great, and I agree, the stone crushers would give it an updated look, the white wheels look more "period correct". I remember the guys in the 70's used to have the tail pipes exit before the rear tires.

I sure wish the "companies" would bring back the old truck models! So many different ways to build them up.

Keep the progress pictures coming!

Tuffone, fine looking rig you're building. Just hope some 'Legal Beagle' type doesn't reach in that bed, and gash his arm open on the mesh. Maybe a frame or a bar across the top?

Keep this build going!

Now that's funny!! And yeah I'm not done with it yet. :)

And thanks for all the kind words and feed back from everyone.

Good to see you back on this one Marty. Look forward to seeing it under glass. I like the new mufflers better, but I would run the tail pipes back a little farther and make them come out right in front of the rear tires. Have you decided which wheels you're going to use?

I'm going to go with these wheels.

And in the photo you can see I left me some room to make changes if needed..

It's a shame MPC converted this kit into a monster truck in the '80s...but it was the '80s.

The two-tone whote and blue looks great. I think a set of wagon wheel-type wheels (maybe those in the MPC Mount'n Goat Jeep Commando kit?) would look great on this truck.
