SteveG Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Well done Chris !!!! ...... you're definately the Ambulance King. -Steve
chrismooney Posted July 29, 2009 Author Posted July 29, 2009 Me likey!! I really dig light commercial. What is all in the transkit? How much were the damages? Well, The resin was very nice to work with... Few to no pin holes, the kit came with the body, interior, front seat, frame. I used a 32 ford stock kit as the donor. The price was around $40 I think. I picked up two at the NNL East. The only thing I would chang is to make it a little longer and extend the back farther past the rear wheels... like this Photo... But it looks great just the way it is... kudos to RMR resins!!!!!! Hosted on Fotki The Trans kit and the donor Hosted on Fotki
RodBurNeR Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 that's nice! I have never seen one before, very cool!
Modelmartin Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 Very cool model! I wish someone made accurate wire wheels for 30s Fords.
Lyle Willits Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 Very cool model! I wish someone made accurate wire wheels for 30s Fords. Replicas & Miniatures Co. of Md. makes photoetched wire wheels. They are the best I've ever seen in 25th scale.
SoCalCarCulture Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 Wow - those wheels look great - didn't realize Norm was doing those. Sounds like the basis for an article - hint, hint!
DR Dubois Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Cool ambulance! ...and love those spoked wheels!!
Frank Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Hi Chris, I was so inspired by your fantastic build of the ambulance I ordered one from Ron Andrews. Would it be possible for you to tell me where I might buy the lights and other detailing parts from, also what would the chances of seeing a pic of the underside. I am also going to attempt to build a 32 Ford fire truck, any info you can give me about trhem would be appreciated, as well as where I could get detailing parts like ladders and hose reels etc.
Dominik Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Outstanding built! Like it very much. the only small thing, you could do is to give the grill a small taste of thin black. So you have a deep looking effect. Look at the grill above:
Agent G Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 (edited) I love the build! I'm seriously thinking "hearse" for this. What's the web site? G Edited September 1, 2011 by AgentG
John Teresi Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Chris.....very nice looking build......that color is great too.
chrismooney Posted September 1, 2011 Author Posted September 1, 2011 Wow you guys are bringing back old builds... LOL Frank the lights cam from my parts box... the underside is from the 32 ford kit and the linburg 40 ford... i build curbside so there is not much to see. Ill get a Photo for you. Ladder and stuff for a fire truck can come from the AMT Pumper or Ladder kit... for some ides on a 32 fire truck check out my 34 ford ladder truck.. I never finished it but it gives you an idea http://public.fotki.com/chrismooney/1934-ford-ladder/ Dominik I should add a wash to the grill...

CorvairJim Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 I thought this model looked kind of familiar! I took a picture of it at a model show in Gilbertsville, PA about two years ago. I was impressed by it back then and I still am.
bsoder Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Another great lookin' ambo for your collection Chris....
charlie8575 Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 I've think I've seen some of your builds at this past NNL, Chris, and if that's the case, they look great in life, too. Very nicely done, and I'm glad this one got drudged up, because I missed it the first time. Charlie Larkin
