I talked to Clay again today for the first time since Friday and apparently Saturday he was cutting a ziptie off a toolbox and pushed someone out of the way and as he brought that hand back he accidently brought the knife down into that hand. He ended up with 4 stitches.

Do it the John Kerry way...

Purple Heart and he can come home!!!!!!!! :D:lol:

We still miss ya Bud..... ;)

Good to know you are ok. Keep doing what you are doing. I got a email from a friend about everyone that supports the troops start wearing something red this Friday to show our support. I passed it on, and am going to do just that. I hope we see a sea of red shirts soon! My prayers are with you all. I salute you.

Keep safe, Clay! Our thoughts and prayers are with you and all the troops on duty.

Andrea...perhaps you can post Clay's "keep in touch via snail mail" address to us for those who would like to donate/forward some model items for him. I sent a large number of models to Iraq some time ago via the VFW (they will box the items, do the paperwork and mail the package for you at no cost to you) and understand the troops really enjoyed the building time; we could do the same thing again B) . What do you say guys? Want to help a fellow modeler?

Hi everyone! We are 3 months into this deployment and let me tell ya its been a long 3 months. Clay is doing well and keeping busy so he says time feels like its flying by (its crawling by for me and the kids). I talk to him on the phone about once a week and on email almost daily.

If anyone wants his mailing address over there just send me a PM.

We're thinking about you Andrea! My wife works at an AFB near here. There was a house fire last week. The father is deployed and everybody in the AF community and the town made sure the family's needs were met (2 kids), but Mom was a basket case, (Gee, do you think?) and Dad came home from Saudi Arabia to hold everything together for a while. He'll be going back, but because of the kindness of many people they will get through this.

You will too! Separation is the pits, but can be done.

We're praying for you.

Clay we thank you for your service and pray for your safe return to your loved ones and friends. Time travels slow but love is fast so hang in there and you'll be home soon..

May far too many families be soon reunited, and this madness brought to an end.

Anyone who does what Clay does deserves nothing less than highest accolades. Not the President, and most certainly not the dweebs in Congress, but men and women like him who actually put their all where these fools' mouths are.

It is my fervent desires that the great powers that control and direct this universe allow your family to be among those forever reunited and never torn apart by madmen (of any side) again.

Military communities are very close knit. When Clay and I first got married I moved into base housing about a month before he came home (he deployed the day after we were married) and I was AMAZED when my neighbors all came over and introduced themselves and said any time I needed something done around the house I could borrow their husbands. I even took one up on that when I bought my washer and dryer, I had my neighbors husband come help me get them out of the truck and into the house but he couldnt stay to help hook them up because he had to go to work so my mom and I tried to do it ourselves but found we were lacking a tool for the dryer so I called a guy my dad had met while dealing with VW's and he came over and helped us.

This isnt our first deployment but its the first with kids. And I am sure we will have many more in the next 12 1/2 years.

Andrea,

I grew up hearing anecdotes from relatives who "stood and waited" during WW-II while their husbands, sons and fathers were overseas, fighting, and looking back, I can only begin to grasp just how hard it was for them in those years. Never having served myself, due to a childhood illness and subsequent disability, I find myself today still admiring those men who do answer the call to arms, to duty, to protect us here at home, and Clay has my undying admiration, support, and prayers, believe me.

My youngest sister married a man who was career army, and we all prayed for Joe's safety, even though there was no shooting conflict at the time, although he served three tours in Nam, came back not entirely unscathed. I am simply amazed at the tremendous mutual support that exists among military families as a result. Although Joe passed away years ago from a heart attack, my sister is still in contact with her friends from his years of service, her years spent on military bases in Germany.

Please rest assured that there are those of us, here at home, who pray daily for the safety of our troops who are fighting that we here at home can sleep soundly, and while we hate that they must do that, know that but for them, and their forebears, we would likely be speaking German, Japanese, Russian or even Arabic today (not meaning to sound at all bigoted here).

Godspeed to Clay, may he come home soon, and embrace you and your children, and then, when things settle down, pick up on this hobby which we all love. It's guys like him who make that hobby possible, along with all the freedoms we do enjoy in this country.

Respectfully,

Art Anderson

Hang in there man. You 'll be home before you know it. Keeping you in prayers.

During these hectic holiday times it is easy to forget about our freedoms that guys like Clay (and the soldiers before him) provide us.

Several others have posted my thoughts earlier in this post so I just wanted Clay and Ani to know that our family has them in our prayers along with all of the other soldiers serving our country this holiday season. May everyone make it home safe and sound.

God Bless and thank you for your service.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Good to hear from you Clay, even if only briefly.

May the Almighty protect you and your unit, especially during this time of year that is supposed to be a harkening of joy and peace for the entire world, across many faith traditions and cultures.

The mission you are on is performing the greatest of deeds, protecting people in a very bad situation from a far worse one at the hands of truly horriffic scoundrels.

Keep up the great work, and thank you, as an average American citizen, for everything you've done for our benefit.
