Lyn Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 First off thank you Jim and Brandon! It was HOT and a lot to go through in a short time (4 hours) and not all the boxes were sorted.. I honestly could NOT have done it with out you!! It is a toss up who had the most fun... I enjoyed watching the guys faces when they first got there as they looked around. I also enjoyed the laughter from my mom and Brandon's mom as they listened to the guys talk about the models and the noises they made when they found one they really liked LOL... A lot of you all were mentioned and some models set aside, I just can't remember which one's and who wanted them hahaha... You as a group have earned the respect of 2 really good guys and one slightly off chick. I took some pictures before the guys got to storage but totally forgot to take any more until we were almost done. I'll have to send those to Brandon to post on here because I still can't figure out the photobucket thingiemauhbobbie. I'm probably going to do this again early November.. I am going to get a table at the Turkey Rod Run here in town and will need help once more before that... Anyone who wants to come on by then let me know. Thank you again guys! you both are amazing people I am kinda glad I fugged up and posted in the other section. I need to add this I still am a dink, you ask if I have something, I still don't know if I do or not LOL.. I am sorry, you can ask the 2 men who were with me today, they'll tell you it is the truth.. I really know slightly less then NOTHING about cars LOL.

crazyjim Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 WHAT A GREAT TIME!! I had no idea what 3000 model kits would look like - but now I do. WOW. It was sweaty, fun, and exciting sorting the kits out. The anticipation before opening the next box to sort was electric. Brandon, it was terrific meeting you and your Mom. Stay positive! Lyn, it was great meeting you and your Mom and I'd like to thank you for the invitation to work today. I had a great time. November, huh? I have already purchased my ticket for Washington, DC for Veterans Day. I'll be leaving November 8 to make a visit to the troops at Walter Reed, meetings, National Park Service Volunteer at The Wall, ViêtNow pizza party, and more work at The Wall. Then Thursday I turn into the Rolling Thunder - Florida Chapter 7 national conference representative. I get to come home Sunday, November 15 a very tired person, but since attending the dedication of The Wall in 1982, I've missed only 2 years (1983 & 1985). I don't plan missing another Veterans Day at The Wall. And if any of you are going to be in DC for Veterans Day, please find me so I can invite you to our pizza party on the11th. Free pizza & beer at Froggy Bottom - but you need an invitation to get in and I'll have them with me. I'll make it to Daytona as long as it doesn't interfere with my DC trip. And Lyn, thanks again for letting me sweat profusely today.

RodneyBad Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 I Wish I lived in Florida to be able to help. Sounds like ya all had a lot of fun. If ya ever look again and spot an AMT Subaru Brat I'd be interested.

We touched a Subaru Brat in one of the boxes - remember "whoop de do, Branden, here's a Subaru"? Today is National POW/MIA Recognition Day. Lots of my biker & Veterans friends are up in Andersonville, GA at the museum and recognizes about 170 exPOWs.

crazyjim Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 Can you believe all those boxes full of model kits? Holy cow, was it fun!! There's proof! Lyn has a Subaru Brat. As I recall, the box was open but the bags inside were sealed. So whoop-t-do, contact Lyn for your Subaru. Yo Brandon. Your face looks so white. I thought you would have caught some rays working in the sun. (supposed to be funny) Now that my picture is out I'll probably have to change my email and phone because of all the movie offers from Hollywood. I don't think I'll try to hold my breath though.

MrObsessive Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 (edited) WOW that's a LOT of models!!! You'll be YEARS selling those Lyn! As far as my face showing up anywhere..................I don't get crazed about it as my face turned up in magazines long before there was a 'net. Besides, I'm very hard to miss at a show, not to mention hearing me speak would be a sure fire giveaway! Edited September 18, 2009 by MrObsessive
Lyn Posted September 18, 2009 Author Posted September 18, 2009 Thank you Brandon! LMAO Jim hahaha yeah I got a red neck and Brandon got a white face. How funny is it that the one picture with a model is the one that was asked about! I now have more time for Model Car Madness now. I just got a phone call I was laid off from my part time job aka my ONLY job doing the Flowers at Sam's club for Cross Mark... Everything happens for a reason.

We did talk about your hands at storage though LOL
MrObsessive Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 where was your face show and your voice heard? I am just curious. We did talk about your hands at storage though LOL I've been in MCM and Scale Auto when certain shows (Toledo, GSL and NNL East) were featured-----one pic kinda up close and personal. As far as me speaking, years ago I did local radio for a short stint as a fill in co-host of one of our morning shows (5-9am). I was invited to return a few times, but never got into it full time as the work is just too iffy. Those that know me of course know what I sound like.......I could never bluff a voice as it's just too distinctive I've been told.
crazyjim Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 Sounds we need to boycott Sam's Club. I can understand getting laid off - but over the telephone? That's ridulous! If you want help over there again before November, just let me know. I wouldn't be able to make OCtober 15 - 20 because my Vietnam Veteran group is bringing The Wall to Ocala. You check our website http://vvg9.wordpress.com/

WOW, is that by luck ya found it or what? I fixed your photo Brandon. LOL.. My Goodness, that is a lot of models. I've seen Hundreds of models but to see Thousands. WOW!, What a mind blower.. Sorry to hear about your Lay off Lyn. I got laid off over the phone once. O well, I found a better job after that.
Fuel Coupe Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 I'm glad it is working out for you Lyn. I know the feeling.. Looks like it was fun. I think the old man would have been happy...
