roadhawg Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 Remember awhile back when awbcrazy posted those beautiful box art buildups? I thought those were the coolest thing....I just HAD to build one for myself! I dug out one of the oldest kits in my collection, a '49 Ford, and there on the box was a nice looking custom....something ELSE I've been contemplating building. The original chrome had faded, so I'd like to thank buffalobill for the replacement pieces from a reissued kit. The only thing I added that wasn't in the kit was the whitewall decals from SELtd, and flocking. Paint is Testors Italian red with automotive urethane clear coat. Anyway....here is my FIRST box art model, and my FIRST custom. Thanks for looking!
meaneyme Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 You did a terrific job on this, I have one of those kits in my stash, I will probably be looking at it a little closer, just hope mine comes up half as good as yours.
RodBurNeR Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 oh yeah sure! blame me, I get blamed for the toilet paper running out by my wife and now this! I am glad to be of "assistance" in your desires. Well I think this is the first one built like that I have seen! It's really beautifully done as well, very nice paint and clean work! I like it so much I am going to add it to my favorites AND to the instructions set to show how this model will look built, it's perfect!
Bernard Kron Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 (edited) Beautiful. Gorgeous paint. Are the pinners and hubcaps in the cover art and are the 'caps included in the kit? Whether they are or not they are a super touch. Edited September 28, 2009 by gbk1

roadhawg Posted September 28, 2009 Author Posted September 28, 2009 Thanks so much everybody, and Bob, I'm glad you like it. Beautiful. Gorgeous paint. Are the pinners and hubcaps in the cover art and are the 'caps included in the kit? Whether they are or not they are a super touch. The caps are in the original kit, but not in the reissues.
