Bruno Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Here's my version of AMT's '71 Duster 340 kit. Built bone stock. The color is a custom mix I made using automotive basecoat and 2 coats of urethane clear. Everything you see comes from the kit, except the spark plug wires and battery cables. I also used BMF for the trim. I believe it to be one of AMT's best kit. Now here's the pics;
fordh8r Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Very nice build! Love everything about...the color, the graphics, the details...all very nice!

I have not seen one in that shade either, but it looks somewhat like amber sherwood met. code F3. I have seen a '73 Duster at a local car show with that color, and F3 was also available in '71. So maybe a 1:1 just like this one exists somewhere...
kyledr330 Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 (edited) Factory color or not, I love it! Really nice job on this Mopar! By the way Bruno, Love your avatar!! Edited October 4, 2009 by kyledr330
oldscool Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Great build of one of AMTs best 90s era new tool kits. I built the predecorated version and had an issue with having to trim the front edge of the dash quite a bit to get the body to go all the way down. Did your kit have the same problem?
Bruno Posted October 5, 2009 Author Posted October 5, 2009 Great build of one of AMTs best 90s era new tool kits. I built the predecorated version and had an issue with having to trim the front edge of the dash quite a bit to get the body to go all the way down. Did your kit have the same problem? No, not at all. The problem I had was keeping the side windows in place while trying to join the chassis/interior assembly and the body. I also had some problems with the decals, but I have 3 of these kits so I robbed a decal sheet from another kit to replace the ones I destroyed...
