I just tried to edit one of my posts. I got so bloody annoyed with the fact that there was no way to view the edit or complete the edit I just deleted it.

I opened the post with the "edit" button. I was able to make the change, but there is no link (at least one that is intuitive or easily seen) that allows me to preview the edit, or complete the edit. It sure was easy to delete the post, but certainly not to edit it.

Edit:

In Firefox the bar that says "Show All" underneath the typing field is blocking the edit buttons.

Better call Orkin. This site is rather buggy.

As I said, under the typing field there is a bar with the "show all" button. This bar is blocking 95% of the two buttons that are used to preview & submit the edited post.

Lets see what I get when I edit.

Not a problem here. When the edit screen comes up go to the bottom and hit full edit. Then you'll have the preview button at the bottom.

I just edited this post twice and was able to preview it both times.

Bob,

What skin are you using. Using Comfy I don't have the problem. If I use the default (IP board) I do B)

This is how the edit screen looks on IE8:

This is how it looks on Firefox:

Sorry to say IE8 is better w/this forum than Firefox, at least on my end. I don't really like using IE for anything unless it's a last resort.

worked for me in both basically the same.

Comfy may be comfy, but other skins work better in Firefox. Aside from "Comfy", most others show half the edit buttons. I think this was IP Duo:

IP Duo & Treble are the two skins that show editing functions properly on my FF.

All others, aside from Comfy, show half the edit buttons. Comfy blocks most of them w/the "show all" bar.

Bob, you're right... different skins show the editing window differently, and "Comfy" shows it incorrectly. A bug with some of the skins.

I had upgraded Firefox last week, but it wasn't the latest-greatest, which I just uploaded. Everything is like greased lightning, but the skins are still messed up.

In Safari I don't even see the buttons at the bottom of the post where you can click "Reply", "Edit," etc.

Yikes... no wonder some of you guys are ready to tear your hair out. Depending on what browser, what version of the browser, and what skin you're using, there are dozens of possible variations as to what you'll see on screen, and a lot of those variations are wrong!

Yep, the skins aren't working correctly, at least not in FF. I'm going to try Safari and IE and see what I get...

I noticed in Treble that your bold/italic "Gregg" didn't come through as italic.

I do believe IPS Software didn't do all of their beta-test homework for this software

Yeah, I think it's still kind of in beta. 3.1 is in developement so I wouldn't expect to see many 3.0 updates.

I noticed the "lost" italic too.

Sheesh, this "upgrade" is turning into quite the event...

I remember the uproar when SA changed their site. I hope we don't have a similar revolt here. I can see why so many members here are frustrated. The skins just don't work right... at least some of them don't. Maybe it would be best if Gregg just deletes all the ones that don't work right. It would mean less choices, but at least the choices we still had would freakin' WORK!

Looks like most of the skins except the default have some sort or another of bug/glitch. Italics doesn't work, some buttons/features don't show up, etc. Oh well, I guess they call it "teething problems!"

Okay, I quit.

I'm going to retire on the beach....

..I know it will work out and I'm not going anywhere!
