Porky Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 This is one I started hackin on today, pie cut the C-Pillars, removed the b-pillars, cut off the windshield frame to lay it back. Going for a 4 to 5 inch shorter than stock height roof line. Mickey Thompson Sportsmans under the rear. Not sure on an engine yet ??? I know why a pro street Supra,,,your guess is as good as mine.
jeffs396 Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Eric, you say why? I say, why not!!! Love that new roofline! I'm not much for Japanese cars, but that thing is gonna look mean! How about a Keith Black HEMI pokin' out of the hood?
disabled modeler Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 HI Porky....im not really a foreign car guy so to me at least you found a use for it,and not a bad one ether. the hemi blown and injected would be my personal choice with it. maybe turn her into a funny car as another possibility?
Chuck Most Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Hemi would be a good choice, Ford 427 dual quad would be better... but what about a turbocharged Buick V6? If it were mine, I might even consider keeping the stock Toyo I'6, just because hey, when was the last time you saw a pro streeter with an inline sixer?
whale392 Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 You could either do some serious custom 2JZ induction work and some super-big turbos for it, or go the Hemi/supercharged route. Maybe even a 427SOHC Ford with a blower and giggle-gas. I do like the new roofline as well!
Porky Posted December 31, 2009 Author Posted December 31, 2009 Worked on the Supra a bit more tonight, got the roof back together and the glass fit back into it, but kept looking at it and the roof line just did not suit me so I added a bit of plastic over both doors and I think it gave it a much better look, let me know what ya think. stuck a DOHC Hemi in it for the mock up pics, it fits but still not sure which way I am going on an engine.
jeffs396 Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Eric, i think the roof looked great as it was...those pieces you added don't follow the top curvature & makes it look too bulky? Just my $.02
GOTH KUSTOMS Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Dang Porky this is just looking toooooo insane man, luv the concept, pro street, OH YEA....
Porky Posted December 31, 2009 Author Posted December 31, 2009 Eric, i think the roof looked great as it was...those pieces you added don't follow the top curvature & makes it look too bulky? Just my $.02 Hey Jeff, You might be right,,,I am sitting here looking at it scratchin my head, I thought it looked good about an hour ago,,,the things you do at 3:00 in the morning. I'm gona sleep on it and see what happens in the morning. stay tuned.
Porky Posted January 1, 2010 Author Posted January 1, 2010 Hey Jeff, after thinking about it and looking at it,,,I dont know what I was thinking with the straight pieces over the windows,,,reworked it again and got everything slicked up,,,I think the roof is done,,,input welcome, still thinking on an engine, the DOHC Hemi in the mock up dose look pretty cool I think, maybe ???
disabled modeler Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 Hi Porky.....yes i think the roof looks a lot better now, she sure looks mean with the wheels and engine.....its just wild! mark
diymirage Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 it looks awesome i would definatly keep the DOCH hemi so far my only suggestion is to mold in the bumpers that front especialy has much to large a body gaps particularly for a pro street where one might expect the entire front clip to be all fiberglass
PlasticWagens Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Really like it, but I say big twin turbo Toyota power is the only way.
wgflatliner Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 i like the roof line. i say go for the 2jz with single turbo upgrade and nice plumbing. There is a supra out there making 2,041 horsepower on that motor, so i think it should be sufficient for pro-street quarter mile times, or in the same league.

I have been thinking more toward the toyo engine,,,was thinging a blower and 2 turbos ??? Large turbos,,,and doing it as an all out drag car on a pro sportsman chassis,,,maybe. I will post a couple pics of it mocked up like that.
pharr7226 Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Nice job on the top. It almost looks like a mustang roof. I'm curious to see how you work the hood. Keep it up. I'll be watching.
