FordWagonNut Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 I was in a modeling slump of sorts, so I needed to work on something that gave me an extra kick. It was my first Revell Mustang '05 on up body style kit I have done. Only mods I did where adding the wheels off the GT500-H Mustang, painting the area between the tail lamps semi gloss black, and cutting out the stock GT grill for a '68 Mustang GT grill. It was painted with the Testors Model Master Lacquer System, in Honduras Maroon. Also flocked the interior, added a antenna base (will add antenna later), township front window sticker, Wisconsin plates, and added '68 GT lower body stripe.
Harry P. Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 Nice! I like the retro grill emblem, pretty cool. And every 2005+ Mustang looks better with the area between the taillights painted black. I did the same thing to my 1:1.
Janne Herajärvi Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Very nice build. Great color choice and i like that black area between taillights, but id like to say just little tip if you going to build another Mustang sometime: those headlight glasses look little toyish now but if you use sharpie or something else like that for outlines they will look much better Anyway keep up great job
Rick Schmidt Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 I think it looks great. The blackout tail panel the Bullitt rims and the Pony grille go good together Think they say something bout great minds thinking alike hehehe Can't really see the grille and for sure can't see the tail but I used the same grille stripe and did the blackout on mine also. So aint no way I can't like yours

I still am thinking of pulling off the wheels and going for some older rim styles from '67 to '70, don't know yet.

When I put the front clip together, I thought the same thing too. Thanks for the tip.
Tony T Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Nice build! I like your screen name, too!! I drive a '00 Taurus wagon, and many years ago drove a '77 LTD II wagon, blue with woodgrain, and tartan clothe/vinyl seats!!
FordWagonNut Posted January 5, 2010 Author Posted January 5, 2010 Nice build! I like your screen name, too!! I drive a '00 Taurus wagon, and many years ago drove a '77 LTD II wagon, blue with woodgrain, and tartan clothe/vinyl seats!! I have been a wagon nut since I was a little kid. My folks never had one when I was growing up but all my friends parents did. Once I got to ride in the "way back" third seat, I was hooked. I have had since I was 16, three Volvo 240 wagons (79,81, & 83), '78 Toyota Corolla wagon, and three full size Ford LTD wagons ('83,'78, & '77). I found my first Country Squire while I was in college in 2005. Bought her at $150 not running, it was the fuel pump. It had been sitting untouched for three years. I did ALL the restoration work myself while on a college budget. Here she is when I first picked her up. My friends thought I "lost it". First week out, October 2005. A week later some drunk college boys bashed in my windshield. And her final days of being a true and loved wagon. In the time I owned "Aunt Edna", she had hit a deer at 65mph, trucked my gear from college and back MANY MANY times, worked as a drunk bus, tail gated at college football games, she was on Facebook with her own profile, and was also part of a speech I made while at Western IL U. She was in a major accident the same day I graduated college. Sadly, the body looked nice in the pics but the frame, floor boards sufferd major damage, trans case cracked, and major interior damage. And Aunt Ednas replacement "Clark".
charlie8575 Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Two very nice Squires, Johnny, and a nice Mustang, too. Charlie Larkin

my name is nobody Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Thats a great looking Mustang. I love the color scheme, and the fact that you used the old '68 GT rocker panel stripes. I grew up in a family that believed in Ford wagons. they are really tough, and will run forever with proper care. anyway, I really like your Mustang.
weasel Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 (edited) nice beaver car!!! oh, yeah...nice work on the 'Stang!! Edited January 7, 2010 by weasel
Greg Cullinan Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 (edited) Nice Squires, hard to believe the transformation of Aunt Edna.Any chance Clark is named after Mr. Griswold? Thanks BTW Very nice Stang. Edited January 8, 2010 by ponyxpress
FordWagonNut Posted January 9, 2010 Author Posted January 9, 2010 Nice Squires, hard to believe the transformation of Aunt Edna.Any chance Clark is named after Mr. Griswold? Thanks BTW Very nice Stang. HA HA HA, yes, the two where named after the movie. There where a lot of names given to me at college, from the '77 being called "The Vista Cruiser" (college kids seem to think all wagons are the same make and model), to my English teacher calling me "Mr. Griswold".
Tony T Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Nice Squires! Aunt Edna sure had a tough go of it! Talk about a car with 9 lives! Clark has a nice green, and love the wire caps! Do you still have Clark? Our '77 LTDII was the "Mid-sized" smaller wagon to the "Full-sized" LTD! With the back seat folded flat, I had 15 people in that car, me and 2 in the front seat, and 12 pilled in the back to go to a sand pit to play dodge ball! It took me 3 hours to vacuum out all the sand from all the nooks and crannies in the back!! Our '77 didn't have it, but my '00 Taurus wagon has the rear-facing 3rd seat! My 23 year old son still likes riding back there if given the chance!

He has always come in handy for big jobs and driving long hauls is an event, pillow like ride, and never makes me feel tired. I am now keeping my eye open for a Lincoln Mark V/VI or a Lincoln Town Coupe from 1974-1978. I would like another BIG personal coupe but I will keep the wagon too.
