BUT I HAVE A NEW ONE FROM TAMIYA IN A BOX STILL. AND A 1/43 SCALE REVISED BODY FOR BETTER AIR DINAMICS. WILL PROBLABLY TAKE ONE OF THE WARP ONES, WORK THE BOBY AND MAKE IT THE MOMO VERSION.
935k3 Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 Follow this link Toyota Celica Gr. 5for some great pics of a very cool Gr. 5 car. I wish Tamiya would re-issue this one. The 1/20 scale version was very nice with full engine detail.

wgflatliner Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 paint drying on the body - it's all at a friend's house and i'll get to it Friday night for a couple more coats, then a gloss coat - then wait another week for it to cure. he doesn't have a dehydrator i'll likely be starting the engine detailing and building this friday while the body is drying. i need to find some detailed engine pictures so i can figure out the wiring and plumbing of it.
CAL Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 I have been distracted with other nonsense. Also, I am not sure I'm completely happy with the paint before decaling it up... I hate white.
3men2s Posted February 25, 2010 Author Posted February 25, 2010 progress on my zakspeed stang. can't wait to finish this so I can start my BMW. This was a itch I had to scratch.
IMSANUT Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Absolutely wonderful to see some endurance racing builders here. I've felt somewhat alone in this pursuit for some time now. I have several group 5 and 4 subjects in various stages of build, and recently just received a set of decals to build the Red Lobster BMW M1 from the IMSA series. The IMSA GTP series is where I have really concentrated my attention to aquiring and building all I can find. Still missing several key items though. Wonderful build of the 935 here. Very impressive!!
curt raitz Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Finally got started on this one... Building this car with this model... and using a little photo etch from Studio 27... Painted the body with Gunze Sangyo Red Madder acrylic paint via air brush... Body with kit decals applied, not as easy as it looks... Now that the body is mostly done, gotta get movin' on the chassis , etc... more to come, thanx for lookin'
3men2s Posted March 2, 2010 Author Posted March 2, 2010 i HAVE THAT KIT OF THE 917..AND WHEN I TRIED TO MAKE THE REAR END SECTION, I GAVE UP, THE THING DID NOT WANTED TO LAY RIGHT AND THE BODY DID NOT WANTED TO SEAT RIGHT. SO I BOXED IT. BUT WILL BE CHECKING HOW YOU DO IT. THANKS FOR SHARING.

So far, so good...everything has been fitting w/o a problem i can see if the rear section is warped just a little bit it there would be problems I don't plan on adding the resin engine transkit on this build, will on the next 917 i build typical fujimi kit...itty-bitty and super-thin parts
3men2s Posted March 11, 2010 Author Posted March 11, 2010 (edited) watch video in HD...and tell me if group 5 rules http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://ll.speedhunters.com/u/f/eagames/NFS/speedhunters.com/Images/Rod%2520Chong/racing/Martini/Martini3.jpg&imgrefurl=http://speedhunters.com/archive/http http://speedhunters.com/archive/2008/09/19/video-gt-gt-montage-porsche-racing-76.aspx# Edited March 11, 2010 by 3men2s
curt raitz Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Coming along on the build, just gotta put the body and chassis together... thanx for lookin'...c'ya later
dwc43 Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 I've been watching this cause I love these cars. I wished I had one to build. I have an IMSA Porsche 930 race car, but it looks like a stock body with bigger or wider stock looking fenders and a stock looking rear spoiler too. I'm sure that does not fit in here. I found this vid the other day and thought I'd share. It's like a vintage race where you see the cars in action instead of in a car show type event. There's some Martini cars and a Rothman in there too.
3men2s Posted March 18, 2010 Author Posted March 18, 2010 My 320si project start. Looking in ebay, found another bmw with full detail engine. and decided to do this one instead of the curbside. so far the the corrections. the chassie did not seat flush with the body so two pieces of plastic bems in each side corrected the problem. also to give it more detail in the engine compartment, I build strts colums with adjustable rings. today I will start with the body.
Pete J. Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Here are some photos of a 325 pull toy I build some years ago. Group 5 mini?
3men2s Posted March 22, 2010 Author Posted March 22, 2010 More progress on my projects. bmw interior mustang body with decals. Now I have to fabricate the back wing and then to put the car back toguethther. on the BMW I have the engine almost done and will post photos later.
Pete J. Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 That's a 6-series BMW, not a 3-series Pete! Right you are! I made a bad association with the Jagermeister Tamiya kit I had on the shelf. Still a fun and quick build. Maybe 6 or 7 pieces.
3men2s Posted March 24, 2010 Author Posted March 24, 2010 one thing that had to go is the pre molded side exaust. Replaced by a bigger pipe that actually will be conected to the pipe. the undercarriage did not even had a pre molded pipe, so I decided to scratch build one another thing I did not like was the turbo on the kit. I t had a air cleaner set up...WHAT??? so I cut it out and with a piece of pipe glued it to the face of the turbo for a more realistic look now I have to build the connections to the intercooler and work on the suspention.
3men2s Posted March 24, 2010 Author Posted March 24, 2010 (edited) found this interesting old fotage of the 320si AND CSL coupes in action http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6GwFCMH6RE Edited March 25, 2010 by 3men2s
Junkman Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 (edited) found this interesting old fotage of the 320si in action Wrong again. These are three litre coupes. Edited March 25, 2010 by Junkman
3men2s Posted March 25, 2010 Author Posted March 25, 2010 Wrong again. These are three litre coupes. ORIGINALLY I ONLY POSTED THE 1 VIDEO OF THE 320SI, BUT I LIKED THE SECOND VIDEO OF THE OTHER BMW THAT I DECIDED TO INCLUDE IT. I KNOW THE DIFFERENCE, JUST IN CASE YOU THINK WE ARE ALL IGNORANTS.
3men2s Posted March 25, 2010 Author Posted March 25, 2010 No, I don't. DON'T MIST COTE ME. I SAID JUST IN CASE .....BECAUSE YOUR COMENT WRONG AGAIN SOUNDS LIKE YOU R.
935k3 Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Here is one I have been working on, Monogram's Miller Mustang. I have a new Speedline decal sheet for it. I have been pinning and making it mechanicly sound so everything locks in place and is straight. This kit takes allot of work to build nicely. The roll cage had to be reworked to fit the car's roof line, they had it sloping down to the back of the car, it now follows the roof line. The wheels are just junked ones from an old build.
