charlie8575 Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 I love how they worked "malasada" in there. Must be the Portugese influence. A malasada, for those of you wondering, is a delicious concoction consisting of massa (Portugese sweet bread) or bolous (akin to an English muffin) encasing pieces of either liguicia (the Portugese equivalent to kielbasa, but better,) or proshuto (like the Italian ham of the same sound) and sometimes cheese, baked, and served warm. Makes a great light lunch with a can of Coke and some carrot sticks. Charlie Larkin (the until-recently token Armenian/Down-East mix resident of New Bedford's very Portugese West End.)
