Zoom Zoom Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Good news again for exotic lovers...Tamiya has an all-new Aston Martin DBS coming: Aston DBS And a modified reissue Mercedes SLR 722 Edition. Only text so far on their Japanese page, don't know if it's the HT or the cabrio. Also a reissue of the Martini Porsche 935/78 Turbo ´78 LM Revell AG is showing the new Mercedes SLS (gullwing) for release late in 2010. SLS Gullwing
Chuck Kourouklis Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Stirling Moss edition SLR woulda really been da bomb, but we takes what we can gits. Aston seems a slightly oddball choice, but BRING IT! Revell's coming along nicely enough that they'll probably do a great 458; wonder if they'll pop the doors on that SLS...
Len Geisler Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Aston, SIGN ME UP!!!!! Easily one of fav's, next to Maserati....
crispy Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Bob, Don't play with my emotions! You did say Aston right? C'mon now!! Wow, very exciting news. I'll be a poor sap for sure this year. I look forward to each one. AWESOME! Chris
PatRedmond Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 The DBS is nice. I'd rather a Citroen C4 or Ford Focus WRC cars from Tamiya though........
Janne Herajärvi Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 That Aston Martin looks great! Ill get one when it comes out
ZIL 111V Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 An auto design masterpiece, the actual DBS(V12), is surely the most beautiful front engine exotic car right now, what a beauty: perfect body proportions & elegant "high class" look. ...Can't go wrong with Tamiya ...First generation('68-'72) DBS kit would also be nice
Foxer Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 It that an ENGINE in the Aston??!!! Looks very nice.
Chuck Kourouklis Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 I'd say let's just expect an engine insert but hope for the whole deal...
tim boyd Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 (edited) Chuck....it would be a crime against humanity (well, almost) if that kit doesn't have a full, stand-alone engine. Bob....thanks for the scoop....that's a really big piece of news in my view.... TIM Edited February 9, 2010 by tim boyd
LDO Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 ASTON MARTIN DBS???!!! Holy cow! I'm in for sure. In other news- more of the "Why didn't they make a 1974 boringmobile? I drove one to high school and I'd buy a case of 'em!". Ugh.
Tony T Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 AMG SLS...What an amazing car!! Would make a nice pairing with the original Gullwing!
Chuck Kourouklis Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Chuck....it would be a crime against humanity (well, almost) if that kit doesn't have a full, stand-alone engine... TIM Alas, Tim, it would also be par for the course in recent Tamiya automotive releases (c.f. Merc SLR & Nissan R35 GT-R), so that's what I'm betting on. I'd LOVE to LOSE that bet. Heck, I would have bet against ever seeing a DBS in the first place.
Junkman Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Call me an old geezer, but I find it MUCH more exciting that they re-release the Westfalia Joker: http://www.revell.de/de/produkte/modellbau/modellbau/produkte/?id=210&KGKANR=0&KGKOGP=10&KGSCHL=41&L=0&page=1&sort=0&nc=&searchactive=&q=&SWO=&ARMAS4=&PHPSESSID=6e010312d7f6a9b5fb70f82a722ccad1&KZSLPG=&offset=2&cmd=show&ARARTN=07344&sp=1
Nate Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 (edited) I'm with Dave. I love the idea, but hopefully it's a full detail kit. If it is, I wouldn't have a problem forkin' over the 60 bones. Unless of course Hobby Lobby gets it. The photos from the Tamiya website seem to indicate more detail: Edited February 25, 2010 by Nate
Merkur XR4Ti Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 God that Aston is beautiful. Can't wait to get it. When is it supposed to be issued?
Guest Sickfish Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 WooooooooooooooooHoooooooooooooooo!!! It's about time a late model Aston was issued!! I'm down for 2 of 'em at the very least!!! & i don't care how much they cost!! I would KILL for a DB9 & Vantage to accompany the DBS!!! I'll def' be grabbing at least 1 each of the SLS & 722, too!! This is shaping up as a good start to the year with these new kits!! Can't WAIT!! Cliffo!
IMSANUT Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 The Aston is truly great news. Now can we hope for the ALMS road racing version. Please, pretty please!
