Modelmartin Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 But the second grammar and Natzi are both mispelled! I assume it was deliberate. I hope it was deliberate!
Jordan White Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 But the second grammar and Natzi are both mispelled! I assume it was deliberate. I hope it was deliberate! Well obviously it's a jab at actual grammar nazis, since it does have the phrase "My grammer is gooder!"
Harry P. Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Right. It should say "My grammer is more better"...
Jordan White Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Right. It should say "My grammer is more better"... "Hyuk, that there be what Billy Bob sayed!"
sjordan2 Posted March 4, 2010 Author Posted March 4, 2010 (edited) But the second grammar and Natzi are both mispelled! I assume it was deliberate. I hope it was deliberate! It's spelled "misspelled." (Sieg heil, Webster's Dictionary.) Edited March 4, 2010 by sjordan2
diymirage Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 My wife was born and raised in the U.P. If you call her a yooper she will flatten you with one look! She has an English and a law degree, too! The schools have not failed us. It's the parents not instilling a desire for education and knowledge in their kids. Some kids go on to great things from poor schools and some kids end up in the gutter from "good" schools. It's like blaming the car when you get caught driving drunk! when is her birthday ? ill send her one of those bumper stickers that say "say yah to da UP"
Modelmartin Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 It's spelled "misspelled." (Sieg heil, Webster's Dictionary.) You got me. I am embarassed!
Modelmartin Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 when is her birthday ? ill send her one of those bumper stickers that say "say yah to da UP" I think they say "Say hey to da UP, eh! ". As for sending it to her, she would kill you. Seriously.
diymirage Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 I think they say "Say hey to da UP, eh! ". As for sending it to her, she would kill you. Seriously. she should be proud of where she came from even if it is a part of the world the canadians dont even want
Modelmartin Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 My Father in law who still lives there calls it "Yoopalachia"
Modelmartin Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 I asked my wife about the bumper sticker and she recalled it differently. Her heart isn't in it. Oh well!
Corvette.Jeff Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 I understand that a large amount of posting replies here are run-and-gun, knee-jerk responses. That's part of the fun of it all. However, there are just a ton of impossible-to-decipher posts that totally ignore grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation and the basics of communication. Here, we're not limited by the demands of texting or Twitter with their shortcuts, and those posts are extremely hard to read. May I make a suggestion? Almost all of us have Microsoft Word. Why not compose your post in Word, then run their grammar and spellcheck to correct hasty typos? All you have to do then is copy and paste your message into your post on this site. We Boomers would appreciate it. Does that include us with that southern draw??? In all seriousness, i do misspell quite a few words every now and agian, at least i try to punctuate! better than those really long posts with only one comma and a period!
Harry P. Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Does that include us with that southern draw??? A southern "draw?"
berr13 Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 not to beat a dead horse here, but I think I loosed my mind a couple of times back in the sixties...
CAL Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 A southern "draw?" Drawl, See this is never going to work.
sjordan2 Posted March 5, 2010 Author Posted March 5, 2010 (edited) Sheesh. (sheesh (s̸hēs̸h) interjection used variously to express disbelief, surprise, annoyance, etc. Etymology: prob. var. of jeez) – http://www.yourdictionary.com/sheesh Edited March 5, 2010 by sjordan2
Blake Rogers Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 as a Canadian i don't what the heck your talking about??
sjordan2 Posted March 5, 2010 Author Posted March 5, 2010 as a Canadian i don't what the heck your talking about?? Please note capitalization and grammar: "As a Canadian, I don't know what the heck you're talking about." Ducks in a barrel on this thread.
Corvette.Jeff Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 Drawl, See this is never going to work. Thats not how we say it here in Texas.
