pancho1969 Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 haven't posted here in a while I mostly build lowriders. Here's my latest build a 1970 impala I thought I would share with y'all .
george 53 Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Looks good Ponch! I like the colors an the convertable look is cool with that style. Is it resin, or did you convert it? Nice job!
pancho1969 Posted March 3, 2010 Author Posted March 3, 2010 Thanks for the reply george. I converted it from the hard top. I used the uptop from the 65 impala and the boot I got from the parts box
sjordan2 Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 (edited) Incredible interior. One of the best I've see here. Edited March 3, 2010 by sjordan2
nails3825 Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Sweet paint! That must've taken a few years My hands shake way too much to be attempting something as intricate as that... I'm impressed!
Modlbldr Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 That is a beautiful job. I love the paint and the interior and trunk detail. You do outstanding work. If I may offer one criticism, or advice? Try using soda can aluminum for things like the glove box door. It will look more to scale due to it being thinner. I really do like your work on this one though. I just tried masking off for my first stripe job and it didn't turn out as nice. Any advice on how to do it well? Later-
pancho1969 Posted March 4, 2010 Author Posted March 4, 2010 Thanks for all the compliments guys . It took my close to 40hrs of taping and untaping and a whole 2min of painting . That is a beautiful job. I love the paint and the interior and trunk detail. You do outstanding work. If I may offer one criticism, or advice? Try using soda can aluminum for things like the glove box door. It will look more to scale due to it being thinner. I really do like your work on this one though. Later- Thanks modlbldr I never thought of using a can for the glove box thanks for the tip I'll use it for sure. As far as the striping just keep practiceing and find u some 1:1 cars that have the type of paint job your going for and use them for reference. Hope this helps if not feel free to ask some more questions
ScrappyJ Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 Ditto! I like the color and the graphics go well with it too. The wheel combination and detailing is nice too (steering wheel, open glove box, trunk with the speakers, etc.).
pancho1969 Posted March 5, 2010 Author Posted March 5, 2010 Thanks ponyxpress and scrappyj. I thought I posted a pic of the folding front seat I didn't so here it is
