Never heard of AMT's Shelby kit being molded in clear. At any rate, treat it like any other body, clean up, prime, paint.

The AMT 68 Shelby GT????? I've NEVER heard or SEEN a CLEAR bodied one!!!! And THAT kits been around for a LOOOOONG time! You MIGHT have you somethin rare there Daddy-O! But as far as paintin it goes, it should paint just like a regular kit. If you do paint it from the inside, make SURE there are NO flaws in the exterior when you put on your color coat or they'll REALLY show up. Just thonk of those clear hoods that you used to have to paint! Still, like i said, I've NEVER heard of that kit in clear plastic, much less SEEN one!!!blink.gifwink.gif

Blake, can you post some pictures of this kit?

yeah, same, i have never seen it, i have seen clear tamiya "special" kits, but not any amt/ertl, etc. kits. i remember revell or amt did make "neon" colored cars, that was made for use with black lights, i have seen them, but not a clear one thats not a tamiya kit!

Never seen one maybe you might not want to paint it might be rare, lets see some pictures that would be cool looking

If it is the new release that is molded in lime green then it may have a translucent look to it. I remember most of the kits back in the day that were molded in metallic colored plastic had a see- through look when held up to light.

oh, i see now, thats just the plastic then, nothing rare, i thought it was clear, lol. thank you for posting pics!

i have a fujimi tommy kaira m13, and the red body looks "see-through" too.

i think its the coloring of the plastic, its kinda like they (the model companies) watered down the color a bit, lol

Should have told us it was Translucent, not clear... :( You got me excited making me thing there was a Transparent kit!!

You can make any kit clear with transparent spray. sheeez everyone knows that.

aw shoot i was going to suggest masking off half the body, or a cutaway section, and detailing under it like you were seeing through a real car.
