Mr. Can Am Garage Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Someone just had to do this. Tamiya TS15 blue and TS16 yellow with Fred Cady decals. The engine was painted aluminium to represent a vintage Chevy racing engine.
Zoom Zoom Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Too cool! 8) Sure wish there were 19/20" modern Minilites in scale...
S10man Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 That looks fantastic John. Do you have an original to pose them side by side?
Mr. Can Am Garage Posted January 9, 2007 Author Posted January 9, 2007 Too cool! 8) Sure wish there were 19/20" modern Minilites in scale... You and me both. Would have made the finishing touch for this project. Thanks!
Mr. Can Am Garage Posted January 9, 2007 Author Posted January 9, 2007 That looks fantastic John. Do you have an original to pose them side by side? Unfortunately, I don't. Never felt the urge to build a vintage race car and now that Fred Cady has retired, decals to do it would be a major stumbling block.
LOBBS Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Definitely my favorite take on the new Camaro to date!! Nice job John
bsoder Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Way..Way...coool!! I love T/A cars,what a fantastic idea ....B
Mr. Metallic Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 Too cool! 8) Sure wish there were 19/20" modern Minilites in scale... Did any 1/20th models have minilites in them? That would be about the right size in 1/24/25 wouldn't it? I know MPC and AMT went through a faze back in the 70's where they were doing 1/20 stuff, so maybe there's a chance?
MojaveRacer104 Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 Hey John! As a guy who was around SCCA racing when Trans AM was in it's heyday, and as one who has professionally restored a Penske Javelin TransAm Champion car...I really like your take on the new Camaro! As an interesting tie-in to this deal...A young lady on my block has just graduated from UCLA. Her boyfriend spent this last summer working as an intern at GM working on the new Camaro!!
lambertjr Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 I love the paint job. I did a '06 Mustang in nearly the identical paint scheme. It was supposed to be a parody of a car for a Blue Angel pilot.
kelson Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 gr8 idea to build, a nice variant on a popular kit . beauty.
jamie Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Looks great! You should have seen the one Dave "Thid" did a while ago! Nice build! Jamie
