shucky Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Hi folks, I finished up the GT500 last night. Its hard to believe that it started out life as a Jada kit lol .. But overall I'm pretty pleased with the finished build. There are some minor fitment problems, so I'm glad I had a spare kit for test fitting and mock up's along the way. Nevertheless, I'm a fan of the Jada kits and would definitely build another one. If any questions about the build I'd be happy to answer. Comments are always welcome. Enjoy the pics!
Wayne Buck Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Man!! That thing turned out awesome!! GREAT job on a SUPER Clean build! Love all the details you added!
Zoom Zoom Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Looks great without the stripes and spoiler and with a proper set of wheels & tires
nails3825 Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Wow! That turned out great... I'm glad to see it's finally finished Awesome job!
RJWood Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Very nicely done build. That engine bay looks great, excellent detail. If this is your first posted build, I will be looking for more from you. Great build.
george 53 Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 What scale is it? Is that the engine it came with? It came out VERY nice!
Ron Hamilton Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Beautiful build!!! That one should sell a lot of the Jada kits.
shucky Posted April 9, 2010 Author Posted April 9, 2010 (edited) Thanks guys for the kind words. The kit is the Jada 1/24 scale GT500. The build up pics can be found here ... http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=28271 The engine is the kit supplied engine. Paint is Dupli Color rubbed out with 6 applications of Scratch X. Wheels/brakes are Mr. Model 21 inch pieces. Next up on the bench are a few items. A 1970 1/2 Camaro Pro Touring quick build, my Nissan GTR drag car which will be in the drag forum under "Import build off," and also a very special Dodge L700 which will haul way more than cargo lol ... Dragline Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 The nicest build-up of that kit I have ever seen. I enjoyed the WIP then it disapeared and I forgot about it. Glad you posted it finished so we could all get our drool on. Bob
Scalper Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Wow looks great nice and clean. I like the blue on the running lights.
janositamas Posted April 10, 2010 Posted April 10, 2010 Nice build, so much attention to details, it looks very nice finished, congrats!
Peter Lombardo Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 That looks really nice.....I think the engine painting and detailing that you did sets it apart from the others. Personally, I like the stripes and spoilers on the car, but yours looks a lot meaner and more aggressive without them. Very nice work. How do you go wrong with a Mustang in Blue? You can't!
kyledr330 Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 I'm not a Mustang fan but, I am a fan of outstanding looking models Great work .
