I received this model from Raul Perez at the NNL West, always wanted to build it...finally got my chance

Started out to build replica of the car Ken Miles drove...but not possible in this scale with this kit

So I found a black & white sketch of this car as an "A" Production SCCA race car

Modified by adding oil cooler scoop to the front, redid the trunk area, added roll bar support, made intake stacks for the Webers (aluminum tubing), scratch built front/rear jack supports and made the decals.

Don't know if this car ran the 4-Webers or not but I think they look cool and the engine in this kit is "BIG"

Paint is Scalefinishes "Ford Guardsman Blue", Model Cal Masters "Classic White" and Tamiyas "Chrome Yellow"

Enjoy:

Now I know you have elves helping you!!

In the little bit of time it took you to get this one built since the NNL West, I've barely had time to sit back down at the bench and get back on track with either of my two builds!!

I can't wait to see it tomorrow at the Stockton show!! It looks awesome!!

You were off to a rough start, but she sure looks sweet I like the stance the paint and the detailing. while you are right that the webers aren't correct for the A Production cobras it would be fine for one of the modified classes. You model is great, and you should be very proud of it.

Thanx Darin, I enjoyed lookin' at the cobras on your fotki site, very usefull information for future builds

I have another one of these kits to build, but am thinkin' about just building as a street car w/dual carb set up.

What a beautuful build Curt. I have had this kit in my hands many times over the years and never built one. Perhaps I'm skilled enough now to give one a go...

Where would we get 1/16 carbs and a manifold though????

I'm full of good questions....

Very cool build, the white stripes and the 2 yellow really look nice. I have always liked the style of this body.

Here's one I did a few years ago with that setup, along with the air cleaner from the 1/16 Mustang coupe kit:

The kit comes with either set up, 4 Webers or 2 4-barrel carbs including manifolds for both

I've had this kit for years and have never done a thing with it. Yours gives me some inspiration!

After seeing what you do with 1/24 and 1/25 scale, I would love to see what you do with one of these!!
