bluemoose Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Here's the Revell pickup with newly tooled custom '38 front end, along with some new speed parts and new lowered suspension parts. Also some new decals for the Ford script on the hood side panels and tail gate. I built it simple straight from the box, except I used some 600x16 Firestones from Modelhaus. The kit decals for the white walls aren't wide enough to meet the rims. I painted it with tamiya coral blue, followed by sanding with some worn out 2000 paper and tamiya polish. Some comparison shopping:
Greg Cullinan Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Very nice.(Actually nice pair) I have this kit and have been wanting to build it.After seeing yours I don't think I can wait any longer!
Harold Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Nice pair o' Fords. I didn't know they had a '38 variant (I should get out more ).
High octane Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 bluemoose, Both of those trucks came out really nice and I'm sure look great on your shelf.
Chuck Most Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 (edited) Whoa... when did they tool up a '38 nose!? Gotta get me a case o' these! As usual, Moose, they're lookers! Edited April 21, 2010 by Chuck Most
Eshaver Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Well you have shown me the reason i need to get annother 37 Ford truck . I built mine as a "Factory Stake bed" several years ago back when it came out in the 90's . The barrel nose from the 38 shoullda been included back then . I remember when Bob drake first came out with the reproduction grilles for the 1-1 trucks in 1983. I was impressed by the grille and now with you're truck , hummmmm ya got me ta thinkin now ! Terror Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 I think,I just overdosed on eye candy. They still look wet.Very nice builds, man.

whale392 Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 I must admit to getting this kit for the surfboards for my '30 Woodie build, but after seeing it built up as you have done, I believe I am doing this kit a great injustice by letting it sit unbuilt in its' box. Beautiful trucks!
oldscool Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Two beautiful builds of another one of Revells best kits. Nice work! oldscool
Sixties Sam Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Beautiful trucks! I really like the blue. Great builds, both of them! Sam
