shucky Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Hi Romell, your doing a great job so far on the build. Agree with everyone else, nice work man. Is that similar color to your GTR build with ghost flames? Looks great! Have a question though ... on the rear rims, did you flip the aluminum sleeve around for a deep dish look? Those are Mr. Model 21's correct? Keep it going and keep up the nice work!

Romell R Posted June 18, 2010 Author Posted June 18, 2010 (edited) Dude- that green Ford Super Duty was one of the baddest models I've ever seen. This Chevelle looks like it might even top that!!!! Killer work! I can only hope your 1:1 Chevelle turns out as cool as the model is shaping up to be! Im glad you liked the Ford as it is one of my favs too, And im using the Chevelle model as a design tool for my actual 1:1 so what you see here will be pretty darn close to what the big guy will finally be. Romell R Posted June 19, 2010 Author Posted June 19, 2010 (edited) Thank you Donnie ..... Well fellas I wanted a few more flame EFX on the body so I used the negative method this time (instead of using the flame pattern I used the pattern I cut it out of) I did this to get some contrast and a depth in the ghost patterns. then I sprayed the sunset gold once again and moved on to the second color coat. which came out beautiful (after some corrections) here you see the almost finished dash... And heres the second color coat....I was using HOK candy wild cherry but it laid down so thin it looked purple. So I pulled out an old bottle of HOK Brandy Wine and shot that on top of the wild cherry and MAN! it came out slammin. You tell me what you think. Edited June 19, 2010 by Aftashox

(sorry if I sound like im patting myself on the back i just really like the way the colors turned out) Front fenders and trunk lid... Roll cage.... heres the doors I havent taken the tape off yet the paint is still to soft.
MoparWoman Jamie Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 Dang, even I love that color combo! Your right, the wine color sure did make that color pop out very nice I might add. I can't wait to see this finish results of this build. Keep up the good work bro!

vizio93 Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 Nice Job man, I was thinkin' about doing some ghost stripes on my 09' Challenger. Do you think it will work with black (probably not) ??? I think I could do it with semi gloss and flat black though or no ???
KENNEDYJR Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 That color scheme looks tasty as all get out. Makes my mouth water for some jolly ranchers.

You could do it with black but your gonna need a transparent black a color that gets darker with the more coats you apply. There are some candy blacks that do just that HOK (House Of Kolors) makes a black thats transparent I forget what it's call though. Edited June 19, 2010 by Aftashox

Thanks man, I think I will actually paint it all flat black, and then tape me a stripe down. Then paint it gloss or semi-gloss black. It will then have a flat black stripe on a gloss paint job, that will kinda have a "ghost" look, and have the look I'm gonna for. Thanks again man Can't wait to see how yours comes out !!! That sounds like a good idea but Id do it the other way around, paint your car gloss or semi black first then add your stripe. Its better to have the stripe raised on your paint than to have a dip the size of you stripe going down the middle of your build

Romell R Posted June 20, 2010 Author Posted June 20, 2010 (edited) That looks awesome. But I have one question. What are you going to build next ? Thx for the sincere compliments fellas......as for your question on what I'll be building next, well I have a few projects to choose from but im leaning toward doin a 300 Magnum C its a Jimmy Flintstone resin body with a 300C front end linked to the magnum body. Or I may just do a 2 door short wheel base Hummer, Or I may just do a Caddy Lowrider (I havent built a lowrider in 15 years), Or I may just do the Yenko Nova as a sleeper. So now you know it'll be one of the four. maybe you can help me make my mind up. Edited June 20, 2010 by Aftashox
