A few weeks back I found out that there was a Mallard Hen nesting behind the HobbyTown I work at and I've been leaving her bread avery couple days.

Well, today was the day, Looks like there were a few too! I was only able to get pics of the one that was in the nest when Mom took the others for a walk or something. I'll try to get more later.

I'm still not too sure where that debris comes from, most of the time it's stuff we don't even have to throw out that ends up in there. She was very well hidden though, I almost couldn't see her and the nest without my glasses when I first found out about it!

Great job Joe, I'm sure momma hen appreciates you leaving her dinner (bread) leaving her more time for the fam. I thank you also for caring for her!

very cool.. is there a pond or river or a lake near by? I hope they done have to cross any roads. If so I would call animal services for your town and they would relocat them where is safe from traffic. nice pics.

Those ducks are a lot better to have around than the infernal Canadian geese we have around here. They are just giant pooping machines and they are hundreds of them in our parks. It gets so you can't walk around some of them. :D

We have them here, too. They're everywhere, and they have absolutely no fear of humans. They'll stare you down!

I was at the park last summer with my daughter and we were tossin bread crumbs in the pond and the ducks started chasing us. :D

By the looks of it Eric, the Duck here was much, much cheaper to feed :D

I don't mind the ducks compared to those geese, had to deal with them when I worked at the Toy's "R" Us down the road from there. They'd leave messes all over the parking lot, and I even had one come after me after I got too close to the nest while cleaning up the parking lot....mainly of their dropping :o Luckily there is a quiet retention pond on the property across the lot from where her nest was at and I thought I saw her and her mate head over that way when I stopped by the store on my day off (need stuff to mod my Comp Crawler a bit before Saturday.) That cig may be from one of my co-workers, we've got about 3 smokers that work for us.

I expected something more like this:

But that's much cuter.

This is what I think of when you say DUCKS........Ahhhhh summertime in the Dells...............

and when you talk about the other ducks..I think of Milwaukee's own "Gertie"
