charlie8575 Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Is the kit in hobbyshops right now? Late September-early October, Lee. Trust me, I'm drooling over this, too! Charlie Larkin
Danno Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Have you seen Bill Coulter and Len Carsner's buildup on this kit in the Workbench section??? The show has already begun, played through, and finished! Played through? Finished? The rest of us haven't even reached the first tee yet.
Dr. Cranky Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 What happened with the Revell 49 Merc is going to happen to this one, there are going to be a thousand builds in the first week of release.
Harry P. Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Played through? Finished? The rest of us haven't even reached the first tee yet. I mean as far as posting a build-up here. It's already been done (sounded like Art maybe didn't see that thread). Of course that doesn't mean that everyone else can't also post their own Hudsons here. Sorry... I wasn't very clear.
Darin Bastedo Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Just to be clear, Mine wasn't a freebee. I had something that Dave Metzner wanted, so we made a swap, It's great though, this model is so nice I'll probably buy several.
Chuck Kourouklis Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Yup. Some day when I finally land my big movie trailer gigs and personally commission some molds for a '48 Tucker and a McLaren F1, I'm gonna want input from you two.
Chuck Most Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Yup. Sam Cates Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 (edited) This is all I have to say... Edited September 2, 2011 by Sam Cates
my80malibu Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 I am glad it is finally here, Now I can start to believe it is actually going to be produced.
Tonioseven Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 (edited) Looks like I'll end up getting this kit; I remember my grandmother saying something about having a Hudson years ago but I have no idea about what specific model or the colors it wore. I'll wait and see if it shows up in one of the "local" hobby shops. Edited September 3, 2011 by Tonioseven
aarondupont Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 I was hoping mine would arrive soon too! But today I got an email that due to the length of time, my back order was canceled. I emailed them stating that I still want it at the pre-production price. It's a big outfit, so I'm sure I'll still get it. More than likely a computer generated cancelation. But now that some of you got yours, I'm really really anxious for mine! Aaron Dupont
aarondupont Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 I already got an answer to my email. The order has been put through! See, No flame, NO bad kharma!By the way, the company was Hobby Linc. They handled the problem promptly! Aaron Dupont
Nick Notarangelo Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 (edited) I will say this for mobius, the way they package and do there kits is awesome,I have been doing a few of there battlestar vipers, and there just grade a . Edited September 19, 2011 by riknight1972
High octane Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 While I like collecting and building model car kits as much as the next guy, waiting for or buying a new kit doesn't excite me like it did back in the early 60's. Most of the time when I buy a new kit it just goes on the "pile" unopened and when I'll get around to building it is anybody's guess.
Chuck Most Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 Being that I've wanted a full-detail Hudson kit for as long as I can remember (and a real Hudson for longer than that), believe me you- I'll be DEVOURING these things as they become avaialble.
Jon Cole Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 (edited) I thought this should be passed along... as found on another site: Moebius Hudson Instruction sheet errorsPosted By: Dave Metzner <dmetzner47@comcast.net> Date: Monday, 26 September 2011, at 6:44 p.m. There are two errors on the instruction sheet for the 1953 Hudson Coupe kit.. The part number call outs for the vent window glass are transposed as are the numbers for the Side view mirrors - these errors have been corrected already for any future issues of the kit - including the Tim Flock version.. Tony T Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Just gave my kit a look through...I'm impressed. I can see the mould lines on the front fenders, looks about even on both sides through the plastic. I'll take a closer look when I have more time. Awesome kit!! (As is the glue-kit version of the 66 Batmobile...just looked at it too as I bought them both Tuesday evening.)
Dave Metzner Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 (edited) If you'd like a set of corrected decals for Your Hudson Hornet kit - these have the Oval logos for the air cleaners corrected. Thanks, Dave Edited November 14, 2011 by Dave Metzner
Chuck Kourouklis Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Awesome! You guys just get more and more impressive as time goes on...
Chuck Most Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Lack of the oval is my only issue with the sheet- they're printed beautifully, and they lay down and set well without solvent.
Roger U Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 This is a very impressive offer by Moebius, great customer support. I will definitely check out all future models you guys release.
