cargostar Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 Well, my modelers ADD kicked in, and the plastic started to fly. This is a Mack/Superior 100' mid-mount aerial. It is one of three identical trucks ordered by Toronto FD. I don't know why I can't build anything small....
Jim B Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 That's a big poject. Looks good so far. I'm sure the Toronto FD will be pleased.
toplessfury Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 cant wait to see it done. where did you find the plastic diamond plate?
m4A3E2 sherman Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 hey dave grew up close to you. westburlington i have question for you my nephew is a lieutenit for the effingham ill. f.d. his mom wan'ts me to build him a copy of his truck it is a seagrave but i can't find one thank you for any help.
cargostar Posted June 19, 2010 Author Posted June 19, 2010 The diamond plate is from Don Mills models. I like it because its 0.040" thick, so it can be used as part of the structure. For a Seagrave cab, try Jamie at SSB Resins. He hsa a couple of FDNY style Seagraves. http://www.donmillsmodels.com/main/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage_new.tpl&product_id=183&category_id=25&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=73 http://ssbresins.com/
Danno Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 Looking good, Dave! The scored siding plastic looks perfect for the roll-ups. Which size / stock number did you use? Keep us updated on your progress, this looks to be a fun rig!
Wagoneer81 Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 Great Scott!!! Dave, that thing is a BEAST!!! You are my new hero! I'm watching this thread, this will be amazing to watch and that truck will be a sight to behold! I'm a former firefighter/EMT and I love seeing projects like this. Being from a small-town where, in 1998, our first-out pumper was either a 1973 Ford C-900 (Town) or a '66 International L1800 (Township) this type and scope of vehicle is still mind blowing.
RodneyBad Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 Be awesome to see how you build one of those. Looking Super Duper
