Railfreak78 Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 This is a 1969 Cuda from MPC from the late 80's. I needed something for my club meeting due to my monster truck being no where close to done. I cleaned it up and sprayed the main colors. This is my first time doing BMF and even did the gas cap, door handles, running lights, and Barracuda emblems. Most of this build was the BMF time. I slapped the rest together with an engine wash and have about 9 hours total into it. Enjoy!
george 53 Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 VERY nice, clean job on the BMF,Bri! The rest ofit ain't too shabby either! Came out GREAT!
nails3825 Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 Looks pretty good for only taking nine hours to build
MyBradKeselowski Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 Great build, very nice and neatly done BMF...
David G. Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 (edited) Looks goon in it's own right- great for a rush job! Excellent foil work, I still struggle with that! Oh, and welcome back, too! Edited June 21, 2010 by David G.
Scalper Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Nice build for 9 hours bmf looks pretty good for first. hope my first time looks jast as good
Railfreak78 Posted June 22, 2010 Author Posted June 22, 2010 Thanks for the compliments guys. I have to say I was very weary of trying BMF. I pulled out an old model book and read some tips on it. Outside of the BMF it actually felt nice to make a "back to basics" style build too. I think this came out pretty good from the score of this kit ( $5 bucks) to the end. I may go back and add details but over all I had no problems with fitment either. Also thanks David!
Agent G Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 I like it! BMF is a PITA, it is why so many of my builds are sitting around. G
Wayne Buck Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 LOL, when I first scrolled down and saw this, I was like "I know he said it's his first time with BMF, but man that is terrible!". Then I scrolled down some more and saw the finished product. I really like it!! You did a GREAT job on this one! I think the color looks very cool on it.
Guest Johnny Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 (edited) I have oone of those in the works! I need to pull it out and see if I can finish it in just a tad under 9 YEARS!!! BTW! l almost forgot! Nice build on short notice! Edited June 23, 2010 by Johnny
simonr Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Hey Brian, nice job on this one!...You finished another model, and I have one in my workbench that I started back in September for the Desert Scale Classic show that I haven't finish yet ....hehehehe Simón Rivera
charlie8575 Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Very nice work, Brian. Especially on the foiling. Charlie Larkin
Railfreak78 Posted June 23, 2010 Author Posted June 23, 2010 Thanks again guys. It was fun to do a back to basics model but now that it's sitting I'm getting the bug to detail the engine and such
