ARTEMIS1759 Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 This would be a cool build custom or stock. It was a '57 Chevy that GM built in '57 though they were expensive as hell. The only interior change was the dash plaque and the horn button:
camaroman Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Thanks for posting these. They brought back fond memories. My grandfather ran a dry cleaning business in Clayton, Ga. The the neighboring business was an old body shop, run be a old guy that had worked in the shop that built these beast. I would often go there in my early teens for a lesson in pin striping ( it did not take). Thanks for the trip down the road know as "Memory Lane"
imatt88 Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 Looks like a cross between a Bel Air and a Cadillac. Pretty sweet, though
Modelmartin Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 This would be a cool build custom or stock. It was a '57 Chevy that GM built in '57 though they were expensive as hell. These cars were not modified by GM. There have been several articles over the years in car mags about them. I thought they were modified in California and less than ten were ever made. I believe someone has or will be coming out with a resin 1/25th version.
Joe Handley Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 (edited) Found a good photo: I like that color on it! I've actually seen that car in person, too bad that museum closed up though. I think there might have been a black 4dr in there too. Edited January 16, 2011 by Joe Handley
SoCalCarCulture Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 Here's one of the '57s at Goodguys Del Mar last year...
Funkster Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Looks to me that someone wanted a 57 Cad, so they upgraded there 57 Chevy with 57 Cad Appointments.
Joe Handley Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 That was the idea, make a slightly smaller and cheaper car that had the appearance of a Cadillac without the expense and was easier to manage in day to day driving.
my66s55 Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Modelhause has one http://www.modelhaus.com/index.php?c=4041&p=69910 if you want one.
