Ron Hamilton Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Last year, one of our club members (M.A.M.A.) gave me a model. Now, I love a challenge, but this one is a little more than I am used to dealing with. Fortunately, I have a big parts box. I am determined to do this one without investing any more mone in it, so it may not be a Replica Stock build in the strictest sense. Who knows? I may go into Lowrider Land with this one. It's going to need a lot of work.

I'm trying to regather my train of thoughts after seeing the photos LOL But I really don't like to say this, but I would tackle this one, stuff like this is what interest me to see come back to life due to the shape they are in before hand.
Romell R Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Knowing your ability to build I keep seeing a ugly duckling turning into a beautiful Swan I cant wait to see where this road take you.
Marc @ MPC Motorsports Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 You're gonna have to channel Xzibit and "pimp my ride"!
mediamonk Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 You guys that take on these major challenges intrigue me. This should be interesting to watch.
charlie8575 Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 ?!?!?!?! Wow! I thought Bruce's Scout was a mess. Ron, if you can pull anything out of this, it'll be great. Here's an idea: how about a model of a car in the middle of a restoration? The only thing you might have to purchase is a one of the replacement windsheild frames from The Modelhaus. Not a lot of cash and saves headaches. I'd do it as a car in-progress- primed some spots, maybe a splotch or two of paint, etc. Charlie Larkin
Cato Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Ron, Sprinkle some 'Rustall' on it, put a SBC with the intake and one head removed in the front and spend the time making a nice junkyard diorama. The model part is about done.
GOTH KUSTOMS Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Ragg Mopp? more like beat to death, but I have faith in you, this will be a nice save when you pull it off....
Ron Hamilton Posted July 23, 2010 Author Posted July 23, 2010 I took it apart tonight, and it looks as if it sat in a swamp for the last 40 years!!!!!
ScaleSpeedShop Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 I really don't think that it is in all that bad of shape other than the busted up windshield frame/ cowling. The side trim appears to be intact and it doesn't have all that 1960's custom ###### glued to it. I say give it a dip in the purple pond, throw some Modelhaus restoration parts at it and bring it back to life.
Railfreak78 Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 I love to see more guys tackling stuff that most people give up on. Makes ME look less crazy I think some Evergreen and Bondo will fix the cowl area. Hands down the worst part of this car is the $5 tag on it Good luck I'm watching
Space Cowboy Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Hey Ron i thought my Scout was bad but you have a great challenge on your hands and i know you can do it. Keep us posted..
Foxer Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 (edited) Wow! That sure needs some work .. Will be interesting seeing how it goes. It looks like something Cranky might be interested in for his Burn Baby Burn thread! Edited July 23, 2010 by Foxer
