Hi there guys, I have been building this model for the last few weeks and decided to share it with you all. It's an out of box, stock build, nothing special from the new Revell kit for a club member. He wants it in a Panther Pink shade just like the one on the box, R/T version. I will just add a few pictures of the build and show where I am at the moment with the build.

I don't know how many of you have purchased this new kit but here are a few pictures of the contents of the box and some minor mockups of the fit which up until now is great!!

Engine detail is terrific man, did you rescribe all the panel lines? They look so clean, is there a wash in them? Where they not noticeable that you had to scribe them?

Kevin, I always rescribe all my panel lines as soon as I take that model out of the box, it saves me a lot of time at the end. I will add a wash even before I add the primer and also after the primer is shot, by the time I shoot my color coats and my clear I am done with them. I am very picky when it comes to panel lines specially when the car is painted in lighter colors. B)

Finally got a bit of time Saturday night to paint the body of the Challenger. I was originally going to use the Testor's lacquer paint to cover this model but opted to use Model Master's Panther Pink enamel paint to complete the painting phase on the body. With this option, all I have to do is wetsand a little and not have to worry about a clear coat, this paint has enought inherent gloss in it. It nedds a little wetsanding on the roof and hood to take care of a couple of little imperfections.

Really sharp piece. I am a Chevy person myself but the Mopars hold a special place for me too. I think a white Mopar interior just has a certain sheen about it and you have nailed it spot on! Great piece! the 1:25 version sure is better than that ol 1:24 one we dealt with all those years isn't it!

Going with the grey primer was the correct decision, especially if Testors formula for the paint is correct in scale to the 1/1 colors, as Mopar switched from a green primer to a gray one starting with the 1967 models, which they continued to use in 1970 & beyond. The grey primer will give the correct base shade for the Panther Pink color as evidenced by the photo you took of the hood.

Good looking build so far!

:)

Thanks Mark, that was something that had me a little worried, all in all, at the end, I still might have the shade a little off, it's always hard to simulate it exactly as the real thing but I myself thought that using the gray primer was the better choice.... :)

That's looking great, the detail in that kit is awesome, I just wish it had a little more wrap-under in the rocker panels, but that's the result of the die-cast origins of the tooling. This is the first time I've seen this kit actually being built.

I have always wanted to see this car built with that color, surely does look nice, the black accents look good against that pinkish color.

Another spectacular job from you.I thought you'd like to see this article from today's news at Yahoo! on new Dodge "tribute colors."

It would be cool if you did the same color approach with a new Challenger.

Funny Skip, I just bought the new Revell Challenger yesterday, only I have too many other projects I want to complete first, maybe some day..... Thanks for the article!
