Hi Kurt:

I just took a closer look at the wheels on your trailer. What was your source for those wheels. I noticed the blue Alcoa decal (must not have been Dura-Brites otherwise they would be black). I also noticed the acorn nuts and wonder whether you outsourced those or machined them yourself.

Again, truly an inspiring model.

Kurt,

I'd like to see some photo's of the truck and trailer outside in daylight. If you got the right background it would look real. The detail and finish are excellent! Truly inspirational stuff!

Thanks for sharing with us.

Bryan....Thank you for the feedback.

The 10-hole wheels are casted by Mo'Luminum, and are available through Sourkraut Model Truck Parts. I have the blue and black Alcoa decals...I chose the blue...to go along with the "theme" color...thank you for pointing that out...the difference that is. The acorn nuts come casted with the rims....Thanks, Kurt

Jim,

I agree, the natural light with the shadows adds realism and interest to a marvelous build. Great work Kurt and thanks for taking the photo's outside. I like them.

Hey Bryan, I mastered those wheels and they are cast and sold by Jamie Rahmoller. For the acorn lug nuts, I had Robert Bentley of RB Motion make them to my specifications. I'm sure he still has my measurements on file. You can contact him about getting those lug nuts if your wanting some?

Ben is the "master" of masters....I am glad to have him on our side.

Take some pictures of it off of the pedestal, in a realistic setting.

The pedestal is actually a integrated part to all of my models....the trucks are "tacked" down to them for transport. The pedestal comes with a plexiglass cover to display the unit. This particular rig, both the tractor which has a "ton" of metal on it, and the trailer...have alot of weight to the both of them, and can be fragile as well.

They can be handled by hand definitely, if need be, but why take the chance...too many hours in them.

Thank you for your input and feedback, Kurt

That truck and trailer screams Western PA. It looks like its ready tear up 119 with a load of coal for the Conemaugh Station. Awesome build.

Hey Ben:

I thought those wheels looked like your handiwork. Well done. I hope to resume modeling after I finish my Mechanical Engineering degree in two months.
