davyou5 Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 I have been wondering, what is that stuff you used to make the Deffuser? I am looking for something like this to build the Hood scoop I want.
Alyn Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 (edited) Great work, Steve. You really know how to translate your ideas into reality. This is well on it's way to becoming the best version of the new generation Camaro yet. That's a title I'm sure you'll own for quite a while. Edited October 6, 2010 by Alyn
seeker589 Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 (edited) The Artist that rendered that illustration is Bo Zolland. His stuff is awesome!! Do searches for Viztech and Bo Zolland for an overload! I LOVE your build so far. Very nice scratch building and attention to detail! Here are some of his other illustrations: Late model Challenger with box flares: Stude Lime green Grand Sport A REALLY low Cougar Custom Volvo P1800 Just amazing detail and imagination! aksarben Posted October 1, 2010 Author Posted October 1, 2010 Thanks Alyn, the lines of the new Camaro are already beautiful, I just hope that what I'm doing to it doesn't take away from that. Tim, yes this Viztech stuff is awesome, he has a ton of innovative ideas on his site, a modeler could get allot of inspiration and build ideas from there. I actually debated over whether or not to do this Camaro I'm doing or the Challenger you showed since I have the new Challenger kit already, in the end I decided on the Camaro, I still may build the Challenger in the future. Thanks for your encouragement. Steve

I am looking for something like this to build the Hood scoop I want. David, here is what I use for all of my scratchbuilding sheet plastic needs, I used this on the hood cowl, my intercooler as well as the diffuser. you can find these everywhere, Walmart, your local hardware store. These specific signs I'm showing are of two different thickness. I don't know the exact measurements but the black and white ones are about 1 milometer thick and the red and white are even thinner. They are a great inexpensive alternative to Evergreen or Plastruct sheet styrene, and are just as useful. Steve Edited October 1, 2010 by aksarben
davyou5 Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Thanks for the info, I will try it . And by the way, Excellent job! I can't wait to see this one get finished.
seeker589 Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 The "For Sale" sign Idea is GENIUS! I can't wait to try it!
iBorg Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 This is one build I want to follow. Know if I could figure out how to do that. Mike
davyou5 Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Thanks for the info, I will try it . And by the way, Excellent job! I can't wait to see this one get finished. I tried it! It worked, though not absolutely perfect but it did work. I will be posting what I have done in the " Under The Glass" forum when I am finished with this project.
Nick F40 Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Tim, we have tostill meet up sometime Yeah I always loverd his work, everything about them is what I like and are into. There should be a series with that Challenger and Camaro at least See now this build is just sweet, if you know anything about me, you'd know you have my attention, keep it up!

Yup - Nick - We'll meet someday. If you see a brownish, four-door Acura Integra with a DC, a Monster, and a SCCA sticker in the back window - flag me down! I'm just amazed at how distracted and busy I get and totally forget to try and make it to a CPMCC meeting. One of these days!
aksarben Posted October 4, 2010 Author Posted October 4, 2010 Engine update. The specifics.. Scratchbuilt supercharger, intercooler, pulleys, alternator fan blades. Paper clip fuel rails, guitar string wiring harness, ProTech braided fuel line with hex fitting.
Terry Sumner Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 Steve, This some some really great craftsmanship! You should make RTV molds of the parts you make, cast the parts, and sell a kit to build a Camaro like this! (so other less talented modelers [like me] could build something like this!)
Peter Lombardo Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 (edited) Steve, that engine is great!!!! It would make a terrific presentation model on its own. The fine details are beautiful. The entire car is impressive, but the motor really takes this to another level......very cool. I have a couple of Camaro's laying around...I just may have to build something like this because yours is so killer, I want one too. ;) Edited October 4, 2010 by Peter Lombardo
Nova-ss Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 I love seeing what you are building and do to this project...its great work.the inside and engine and all the body mods.....great!!! keep up the good work. Thanks,Chris
vizio93 Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 That engine looks killer Steve !!! I like the wiring harness

dwc43 Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Thanks everyone for the great encouragement, here is a small update on the interior. Steve Where did you get the racing parts from? The gauge and switch panel look really good. I could use something like that.
