car lover 1996 Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 Hi guys. I have a general question. Where can I find a 1/25 scale dog figure like for dioramas and things. I looked online a little bit, but only found a couple expensive things. I noticed some of you guys have a dog figure in your dioramas so maybee you could tell me. Or even if I could find one to make more out of resin. thanks Brian
oldscool Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 Why at the 1/25 scale animal shelter of course:lol:. oldscool
Bill Eh? Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 Brian, there used to be an eBay seller that sold a variety of 1/24-1/25 scale dogs under the plastic model car section. I can't remember the sellers ID. They only list occasionally, so you might have to check listings for a while.
kingiguana Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 Why at the 1/25 scale animal shelter of course:lol:. oldscool Hey ! I was gonna say the 1/25th scale pound ! I see I'm not the only smart alleck with a warped mind.
Junkman Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 Actually, for stuff like this all you have to do is keep your eyes open at the next boot sale.

Agent G Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 I found some cast metal wolves used in fantasy gaming. They make a perfectly acceptable German Shepard standing in the back of a police car model.
peter31a Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 If you're searching the web especially E-Bay check out Model Trains in the G scale (Garden Scale) section Most things in G Scale come out around 1/24 - 1/25. I have horses from G Scale model railroad for a diorama someday.

Greg Cullinan Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 I have a 4 pack of dogs from the lil homiez collection. I forget where I bought them from, maybe Pegusus Hobbies.
1320wayne Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 Brian, what kind of dogs are you looking for? I have a diorama build in that section that shows off some of the dogs that I had collected over the years and I still have a few left unused. I have sheperds, labs, collies, beagles, retrievers, etc. Let me know.

The Modeling Hermit Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 Somebody on ebay had some in resin. Some of the old annual 3 in 1 AMT kits had animals in them. I think one of the animals might have been a beagle, but I'm not sure. Hey Gregg. This might be a good idea for an article in the magazine. What animals were included in kits.
crazyjim Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 (edited) Some old kits had critters. I have what looks like a hound dog laying down. I think there's an alligator too. Edited September 23, 2010 by crazyjim
Ben Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 There's several different types of detailed 1/25 dogs on Ebay right now in the "models/kits-dioramas" section.
SoCalCarCulture Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 Take a look at some of the vendors here... Aftermarket Resources
von Zipper Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 I get alot of diorama stuff from a Doll House shop, I never paid close attention to them-but I have seen dogs there that had real looking fur also.
Harold Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 The AMT '57 Ford has a Bassett Hound lying down. You could also try the G- scale train section of your favorite LHS (that's 'local hobby shop', not a mid- 90's Chrysler LHS ).
1320wayne Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 (edited) If you have any beagles, let me know. How's this one? I have one left. If you are interested then simply send me a PM with your address and it's yours. Edited September 25, 2010 by 1320wayne
AzTom Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 I had one for awhile, got tired of cleaning up after him [url=http://www.fotki.com]
Dave in Seattle Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 Google the term "dog toob", spelled exactly as shown. Get a good dozen dogs in mixed breeds, pre-painted, and dang close to 1/24 or 1/25 to me.
