Harry P. Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 How about this? Real or model? The answer: MODEL!
mrspex Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 Going with real, and it looks like a blast to ride if so...
Ryan S. Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 I'm going real also. Though if it's a model it's very well done. I'd love to ride that thing!
Pete J. Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 Got the last one wrong, so lets see if I can do the same on this one. Model for no particular reason other than I have seen similar builds of steam engines at Joe Martin's(Sherline) Craftsmanship Museum.
Jon Cole Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 I'm going with the first impression... real.
highway Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 I've not been doing well on these lately, but I say real.
Harry P. Posted September 27, 2010 Author Posted September 27, 2010 Going with real, and it looks like a blast to ride if so... I dunno... looks kind of dangerous to me!
Harry P. Posted September 27, 2010 Author Posted September 27, 2010 Any time I see these kinds of things I always think "there's a lot more 'go' here than there is 'stop'" Now that you mention it... I don't see any brakes! Also, I don't think I'd be too comfortable with a coil in my crotch!
Stang67 Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Hmmmmm interesting...REAL DEAL.Gas mileage?
my66s55 Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 I have seen a real one of these. I vote real.
Zhu Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 That's a tough one for sure Harry. Think I'll go Real.
MikeMc Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 (edited) Now that you mention it... I don't see any brakes! bikes have coaster brakes........ that tank is giving me fits...polished brass Edited September 28, 2010 by MikeMc
dimaxion Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 It is a real model . It is not marking it's territory . Leaking oil to make the mark . Thanx ..
Jim Gibbons Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 I seem to break even on these; I'm about due to be right, so I'll say model. I very well could be wrong, but I polished enough brass in my merchant marine days, and the tank looks too good to be 1:1 (or else it's been plated, which would have been unlikely on the 1:1.)

Gotta agree about the brass...never seen a restoration polished
