Nick Winter Posted October 15, 2010 Author Posted October 15, 2010 Nick, your skills are incredible! You have me hooked on this thread! Thanks Nick W(Wester), from Nick W(Winter) I've gotta go back and fix the center caps on the snow flakes still.
Nick Winter Posted October 16, 2010 Author Posted October 16, 2010 I didn't like the kit supplied leaf springs so well, nature took it's course.
Guest madazzskilzkustumz Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Good 2 C UR taking my advise. Nice work on the car pet 2. and the sprigs but the rivits are a bit big dont U think? keep practicing U will get their! Thanks JIMMY!

Nick Winter Posted October 16, 2010 Author Posted October 16, 2010 they arent bolts on the 1:1 springs, those little bumps or nubs are the pins on the plastic/nylon spring sliders that are between the leaves. there is a single bolt that does pass through all the leaves in the center and that bolt also serves to locate the spring perch on the axle to the leaf spring. if the leaves were bolted together the way that you've made the scale ones the spring would be rigid with little to no flex. cool that you made your own leaf springs by the way kit supplied leaf springs typically arent very detailed. Dave Oh i thought they where, thanks for correcting me Dave.
Guest madazzskilzkustumz Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Plastic rivits yep. Butt they are still a bit on the big side doncha think?. Since U R puling out ALL THE STOPS now wood be a good time 2 fix that. after U paint and decide I am rite it will be more work 2 fix. glad U R learning ! Thanks JIMMY!

Romell R Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 (edited) The way I see it ....Untill a person shows his skillz as a builder he has no merit on which to base his expertise. I for one am enjoying your build Nick and I wish you well with it. The only advice I have to offer is this , build for yourself because noone eles matters when it comes to your satisfaction. Hey thanks Romell coming from you that means a lot.
ChrisPflug Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 All I've noticed from the earlier poster is he can't seem to build a coherent post (much to the annoyance of many here)- certainly makes you suspect the mad skillz
Guest Johnny Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Nice start Nick! Looking foreward to seeing it through! I have that kit in the closet. I have the chassis, interior and engine done but when I bought it new I opened the the box and found the body was in two pieces. It broke in the door openings and acros the T-Top! The box was perfect so I believe it was put in the box broken! Maybe I'll pull that out and work on it after my Barracuda is done! Oh yeah! Ignore Jimmy!
gray07 Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 Looks good Nick, i will be watching this thread

Ouch, It's a pretty nice kit if you put a little elbow grease into it. Thanks nick, I like seeing your progress, & you interior looks good - BUT! (you knew that was coming!) Can you PLEASE find the macro setting on your camera (usually a little Flower symbol) or step back one step & then Zoom in a bit, just so the pictures are a bit clearer & not as fuzzy. It would help us see your great work that much better. If you need help your camera, let me know. If you are using a Cell Phone camera - well - see if you can borrow a digital from someone, or at least move back a bit to let it focus a bit better on the subject & not the background. Not trying to criticize - just trying to help. Mike I'm buying myself a new camera after my birthday in a month.
Nick Winter Posted October 21, 2010 Author Posted October 21, 2010 Well did a bit more, BMFed the door panels, still have to detail them. Fixed my wheel centers.
David G. Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Nick, I continue to see improvements in each of your builds. I'm sure I'll be able to see even more once the better pics from your new camera start showing up. Keep up the good work! Regards, David G.

Jeff.
