sjordan2 Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 (edited) I already posted on this, but my question is, how do we define real or model? As several members have said, it looks like a scaled-down kid car, which means it could be a real car with some sort of power train that makes it driveable. Or it's a powered model. Or it's not powered. Or IT'S...Monty Python's Flying Circus. Edited October 13, 2010 by sjordan2

Harry P. Posted October 13, 2010 Author Posted October 13, 2010 Real = the real car, or a full-scale recreation (kit car, "tribute" car, forgery, whatever). In other words, not necessarily a "real" original, but a real car. Model = scale reproduction (any scale smaller than 1/1).
Romell R Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Im gonna go with real i TRIED to analize it to no avail im not gonna pretend I know for sure cause I dont, but my gut says it real so i'll go with that.
Harry P. Posted October 15, 2010 Author Posted October 15, 2010 Well, it can't be any closer. Final vote: 25 Real, 24 Model. Which means I fooled you... but barely! It's a model. A BIG model!
george 53 Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 WOW! Thanks for the pic wth the guy. That REALLY puts it's size in perspective! I don't feel so bad now!
MikeMc Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Gotta be a model......way too narrow, steering wheel wrong and positioned wrong, spare shouldn't be cocked sideways.... ;)
sjordan2 Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Wow. Do you have any background information on it?
Harry P. Posted October 15, 2010 Author Posted October 15, 2010 Wow. Do you have any background information on it? Just a guy from England who likes to build really big, one-of-a-kind models from scratch. I'll have to check and see if there are any construction details.
Harry P. Posted October 15, 2010 Author Posted October 15, 2010 No information there... he just says he's an engineer who likes to build 1/2 and 1/3 scale models. No further details on his methods.
Zoom Zoom Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Well, I guess I was right! One look at that thing, and I was thinking "half scale". Many Silver Ghost details were off/out of proportion...

MikeMc Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 And where's the "Flying Lady?" Not in 1903......
Harry P. Posted October 15, 2010 Author Posted October 15, 2010 Not in 1903...... ;) ooooohhhh..... I thought it was his own initials or something! ;)
horsepower Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Welllll, the pic at least explains the reason I picked real, I didn't know of a supplier that made the Carlisle tread pattern in a scale tire, now it's clear they are small motorcycle tires.
