Greg Cullinan Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Not to count another mans pennies but I don't see how there could be a ton of profit in a model car mag. And not to paint someone I don't really know, but I can't help but wonder if Gregg puts out this magazine as a service or courtesy for you guys. Just a thought...
my80malibu Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 John, you can call the Denver office and ask for Sherri, she handles all the subscriptions and back orders. Here's my question for you, John, and everyone else. How would you feel about getting one year of Model Cars digitally/online? If you are for that, what would be your price point? I have a new vendor lined up for the digital versions of the magazine. DON"T GO SCREAMING AND CRYING EVERYONE!!!! I am not GOING digital. I am creating a digital version of the printed magazine. I really don't understand why I see and hear so many people screaming, crying, and often times yelling that a digital version of the magazine means the end of things as they know it. To me, it's a plus. It is not replacing the magazine. It's offering another version/option of it. Your thoughts and opinions? Phil, sorry for hijacking your thread. I have an older home and I really dont want to have a computer in my bathroom where I usually read the magazine.
gkulchock Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 Gregg: Just wanted you to know I appreciate all you do in putting this magazine in our hands. If it's not here, “on scheduleâ€, so what. I know it's coming, and like so many other readers out there, we’ll all enjoy reading it from cover to cover when it does get here. Keep up the great work you do on this magazine, but please take care of yourself first buddy. Now let’s all go build something, and let Gregg recover.

elan Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 I have never subscribed to MCM, but if being late bothers people that much maybe they should subscribe to that other mag and see if it's any better.
Harry P. Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 As one of the components of the National Highway System, Interstate Highways improve the mobility of military troops to and from airports, seaports, rail terminals, and other military bases, in other words it connects all the military bases on the Island. Um... I was kind of joking. Interstate highway. In Hawaii? Get it???

It may not be late, but it's always thin, rarely has as much content, and it's never any better ... although it shows occasional and rare signs of life.
mikemodeler Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 I must be missing something here. Unless your prescription drugs are stuffed in the magazine what difference does it make if it's a bit late? If you get the issues you paid for stop crying! If you can't tolerate a late magazine then go to your local hobby shop and buy it there. If you don't want to spend the time to buy it then wait for it! Grab yourself a tissue and go build something! No drugs or tissues needed here Erik. Gregg explained it all earlier and now I wait for the magazine. The point was made that Gregg has suffered a reocurance of his back problems, something most of us are aware of as it has been the cause of delays in the past. It was mentioned that someonecould have posted that information as the reason for the delay and all would have been fine. As someone who has subscribed from the beginning and endured delays before, I can assure you I don't shed tears over a late issue. I subscribe because my local hobby shops do NOT carry MCM, despite requests from several customers so I am left with subscribing or going without. Given the economy and personal finances, I struggled to renew my subscription this year but felt I could go without a few kits so I could have the magazine instead.
moparmagiclives Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 Not that it matters much, but I subscribed to brand "x" mag last year. about 4 weeks later I recieved my first of 6 issues of my year and the first one was the same issue I bought and tore out the mailer from. So really I paid for 5 issues. Oh well....maybe it will be a collectors item in the plastic some day. I would like to see an issue of Model car mag some day, but have never seen it on the stands in washington or oregon.

Model Cars Magazine isn't available on newsstands... only at some hobby shops or by subscription. We hope to have the magazine available on newsstands in the future.
MoparWoman Jamie Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 Um... I was kind of joking. Interstate highway. In Hawaii? Get it??? I was unaware that Hawaii had states in it, where are they all kapt at? Now about the mag issues, it doesn't bother me at all as I'm not with MCM or Scale either. I can get the info I need right off the forum here faster.

Dunno where you are from, but if it is not too far, you could try that.
