Here's a project I started in '06 - and decided to work on it some more.

A 2006 Peterbilt 357 Vocational Hood 6x6 for Schlumberger.

Here's how it looks tonight (11/29/10)

I'm using the spec's from two different trucks - but the general idea will be something

close to this 357

Additional build pics are on The Workbench

Thanks for looking!

Scott,

I don't think it is a 'standard' color - but the colo Schlumberger uses.

Tim

A tough looking bruiser, that's for sure! The blue is particularly striking; does it represent a "standard" Peterbilt color?

Is that a Marmon Herrington All Whell Drive setup? I install Marmon Herrington all wheel drives on the Volvo VHD series trucks. They took the place of the AutoCar. We did a few new Petes for one of our other customers that were to have Crane bodies installed. The best part about the install is the test drive. It is great to be rollin down the interstate and look down into passing trucks!!! Like always nice build Tim!!

Depending on the truck I'm using for information - either a FABCO or MH.

Excellent! When I looked at your pictures a few years ago, I always liked that truck myself.

How do I contact Klaus to see what he sells? I got a autocar dc 6x6 I'm building that would look great with them tires!

They used to use orange and black back when they called themselves "Dowell Schlumberger." The color change was about 10 years ago.

The blue on the chassis is slightly brighter than the blue that BJServices uses.

Tim

Looking nice, Tim. I thought Schlumberger used orange?

Nice going, Tim. I like your 357-th.

Tell me please - how have you mounted fuel tanks and straps to fuel tanks brackets? I just want to do the same with my Custombilt, but I can't figure out jet - how to make it reliable mounting.

The tank straps are chrome vinyl that do not attach to the mounts.
