This was a 69 GTX I turned into a 383 68 Road Runner. Added some details like the clean air package, reshaped the rear wheel openings, filled in the trunk panel, tried to kept it as plain as possible with steel wheels. Used Keith Marks decals. It's MM Mopar Bronze. The motor color I mixed up myself.

Sweet build! Curious why you didn't just start with the amt '68 road runner though, lol

I did, and that is what was in the box, a 69 GTX body.

I'm working on a '68 Roadrunner myself. Can we see a few close ups of the engine? From what I can see, it looks beautiful. I've spent some considerable time looking at photos in order to make the engine bay look accurate. Even down to the purple horn. What did you use for the heater core hose? I used soldering wire and painted it flat red. It was very easy to mold it into shape. I drilled some holes into the firewall and crimped them on the other side. I really appreciate the look of a model when the car is built stock. Yours is awesome. Great work!

I'm not aware of one. You could use the wedge hood with some sanding and a Dremel router bit. Draw out the U with a pencil, then follow the line with the router bit. I would use masking tape for a guide going down the hood, free hand the u part. Thanks for the comments.

Thanks! I found the vynil tubing at a craft store called Pat Catans. It's like Michaels. I did the same thing you did and drilled into the firewall, cut the hoses long and ran them through the holes. Your motor compartment looks great by the way, really nice detail. Your time spent has paid off. Mine I used memory of what I owned, lol, so I hope I didn't forget anything.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments.

Thanks for the comments. I wanted it to be as accurate as my skills allow because of what this car represents to me. I grew up around the 383 Road Runners, and this car was the car slugging it out on the streets more than the Hemi's. Hemi's were the exception, 383's were the rule, in my part of town anyways.
