Gregg Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Skirts or, no skirts? Easy, build two. One with, one without, duh(LOL). Or one side with, one side without? You only see one side at a time, right? Not to knock the Dudek Sombreros (which are undeniably cool), how about those Replicas and Miniatures '61 Buick covers? Which ones are those? I know, duh me, I probably reviewed them, yes?
Chuck Most Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Or one side with, one side without? You only see one side at a time, right? Which ones are those? I know, duh me, I probably reviewed them, yes? A- Hey, records and cassettes had different stuff on each side, why not? I once saw a 1:1 '40 Ford with modern big-inch billets on one side and 15" steelies and whitewalls on the other, so it's not impossible! B- Yep. Don't recall what issue- but you showed a bunch of different wheel cover treatments on a green Revell Merc... oh, must have been a year, year and a half or so ago.
Chuck Most Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Those are the ones! The one I'm thinking of is bottom row on the left.
PatRedmond Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Bob's Caps are to DIE for. I'd like some 6 bars on this build though.....
Tom Kren Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 No with the side skirts maybee without the fade aways YES with the Bob Dudek wheels w/ rep min wide whites maybe lime green met paint OH I CANT WAIT!!!
SteveG Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 I say yes to the fender and side skirts. Somebody's going to have to be the one to show us how to blend those side skirts into the body. So It might as well be you. It would make a great MCM "how to " article for the next issue ....
Sixx Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Gregg, top row, third from the left...or Bobs wheels!
Bobdude Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Gregg,If you want skirts,I'm sure you have the capability to make them flush mounted.
Tom Kren Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Now this kit is the same as the revell 48 ford deluxe vert kit but customed
Eshaver Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 When I can figure out how to un -chop this car, I'm in for two of them . I want one as a car I built for a former employer years ago with a 389 Pontiac engine in it . The other of course will be a stock Flat headed ride ............ Ed Shaver
Dr. Cranky Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 That's my understanding, Tom . . . but the roof is not chopped, or maybe it is . . .
Eshaver Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Cranky, the roof IS Chopped , trust me . I was building one of these cars for a solid year ! Ed Shaver
Gregg Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 I have had a hard time with Alclad lately. I don't know what it is. Before, I used to be able to get almost chrome finishes, now, nada! Don't know what I'm doing wrong. Using Tamiya Black, like always, 10-15 lbs airbrush, light coats. It's weird.
MachinistMark Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 to all those whining about the chopped roof, suck it up, Stock is boring and ugly. Cut em up!
scale trucker Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 can you say old barris custom..fade aways,caddy grille,caddy hub caps,candy burgandy,,white tuck&roll....
Craig Irwin Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 One mans floor is another mans ceiling, I'm waiting for a corrected resin body.

niteowl7710 Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Yes, I just want the kit to be out. Waiting for it and the Hornet! Come on September! According to Moebius' FB page the boat is supposed to dock in the morning chocked full 'o Hudsons. So they're here...they're just not HERE (as in your LHS) yet.

Could be another month- I hope not, but at least they're hitting the shores!!!!
Dr. Cranky Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Great to hear, maybe we can row out to meet them on the boat! LOL!
