kerc Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 This is a mix of spare parts, a disassembled Phantom Vickie, and a stalled '34 pickup project. Wanting to reboot myself and get those modeling juices flowing, I threw caution out the window and started mixing parts and stuff, with the following results...It ain't pretty, but it sure is bad. Still to do? Some additional weathering with washes (noticed that with these pics!), and some small detailing here and there.
whale392 Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 I see a 4.6L DOHC Ford Mustang Cobra mill hiding among the grime, don't I?
kerc Posted December 30, 2010 Author Posted December 30, 2010 (edited) I see a 4.6L DOHC Ford Mustang Cobra mill hiding among the grime, don't I? The Phantom Vickie engine, a pretty cool unit! Its backstory is that this is an actual hot rod in progress and not as it is as the end...So it would eventually be a pretty, shiny hot rod! Edited December 30, 2010 by kerc

cruz Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Pretty unique Kerc! You know, I have always said that anyone can shoot a glossy coat of paint, not the same thing can be said about weathering a model, it's an art in itself. You would really enjoy being a member of our PA. Club if you were living close to me, there is a very good bunch of talented builders in my club who are really into these type of vintage and weathered vehicles. You did a terrific job on this one of course!!!
David G. Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Very cool! Excellent weathering. Your door hinges, are they made from pins and tubing? Could you share some of the details on how and with what they're made? Thanks, David G.
george 53 Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Nice job, Daddy-O. A Hi Tek ratty! Great idea, AND you pulled it off nicely! VERY nice job!!!! :D
Modellpularn Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 (edited) Oh, cool!! Looks evil with those black rear wheels.... I've got a similar looking body laying around, that needs some work. I'm getting inspired to finish that halfdone project, now that I'm seeing yours. Edited January 1, 2011 by Modellpularn
