A12Runner Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Hey everyone. I'm Jeremy. I am working on a JoHan 69 Road Runner and want to do an A12 car. I need a few parts that I believe someone has made. I am looking for the Six Pack hood and the correct Air Filter. Do any of you know where I can get these pieces? I will also be looking for a few non resin parts as well such as Torque Thrust wheels and Wide Oval or Radial T/A tires. Also, Do any of you know if the AMT 68 Runner chassis fits very well? Thanks, Jeremy
ian ashton Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 One of my favorite cars! There are a few sellers on eBay occasionally that have the hood. I'd check there periodically. There is one listed right now, but it doesn't look 100%. I bought one from seller 'lots-stuff-4-sale' and it looks good. None listed now though.
High octane Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 I bought a six-pack hood for a '69 Road Runner quite a while ago from AFX n' Scale and they are no longer in business. I don't know if anyone else makes them.
ChrisPflug Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 The "lots of stuff 4 sale" listings on eBay are the AFXnScale parts from a current seller Perry's Resin used to offer a kit that also included '69 bench seat interior parts and wheels The AMT chassis is a popular swap
george 53 Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 (edited) Yes, you CAN use the Chassis AND engine compartment from any of the AMT/Ertl 68. 69,am 70 Dodge/Plymouth kits to make that kit REALLY stand out. I've done this conversion MANY times and those parts fit the JoHan kits like a glove. I got my 6-Pak hood from Perry's, he used to sell an A-12 conversion kit. But that was quite a while back, but it IS a nice conversion kit. Hopefully he still lmakes it. Edited January 24, 2011 by george 53

We could trade or $ . I don't think you can buy these parts from Perry's Resin . When he bought his Hobby Shop , he dropped the parts end of this business . Try <rocketfin.com/model_car_links> . Scroll down the model cars on the home page . There wil be a Search Box , inquire there . Happy Hunting ..Thanx ..
Bruno Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 (edited) You can get a 6 pack RR hood here; Resin parts list See picture It is made for the AMT kit, but should work on a Johan too, both are 1/25. I ordered a few times from him, good guy and he has nice parts. Edited January 25, 2011 by Bruno

ian ashton Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 I actually just finished the mold for a set of Americans, haven't even photographed the casting yet! There are several others that make em too, I'm sure others will post. I'll pm ya some pics later today when I take em.

Casey Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 (edited) I just made an order from Kris. Can't wait to get it all. Does anyone know where I can get wheels called spyders? Also, where is the best place to get tires? I have a few extras from the Monogram 1/24 scale '69 Camaro Z/28 kits if they will work with the tires you plan to use. I think some of the 1/25 scale early '70s JoHan Pro Stock kits included Spyders, too, but I can't find a pic to confirm it. Maybe I'm thinking of a 1:1 Pro Stock Comet... george 53 Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 JoHan DID cast Spyder wheels with their "Fast Eddie Schartmann" Pro stock Maverick. I KNOW this kit came with them, but I'm not sure about any others. Hope this helps.
ChrisPflug Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 MPC Trans Ams from 79-81 include a set of those wheels as the custom option
A12Runner Posted February 10, 2011 Author Posted February 10, 2011 I received my hood from smallblockdodge resins yesterday. The hood looks very nice. I did have to do a bit of trimming and sanding to get it to fit the Jo-Han body. There is still a bit of work to do, but over all I think it looks good. There is one pit right in the top that I am not sure how to fix, any ideas?

Let it dry for 24 hours and sand smooth. I hope this helps.
crazyjim Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 I've casted some Spyder wheels. They're not as good as the ebay guy.
