Starliner Kustoms Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 Well it's done or at least as far as I am going at this point... For such a simple kit this car fought me every step of the way from paint to foil. LOL Anyway, it's painted Testors one coat white lightening and root beer. I nosed and decked it. Removed the door handles and scripts and used the kit supplied kustom tailgate and bumper nerfs. As for the taillights they are also kit supplied but I painted the ribs to make them look like the old style Lee lenses with the white mylar inserts. The hub caps are 58 Chevy caps with bullets in the center made from the tops of the kit supplied spotlights. The front recieved a oldschool kustom grill with floating headlights. As for the interior I made pleated inserts for the seats and headliner from Plastruct corrigated roofing sheets and robbed and modified a steering wheel from the parts bin. The suspension is lowered and exhaust tips were made from aluminum tube. So there she is...Thanks for looking and happy modeling.
RJWood Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 Very nicely done. I love the wheel covers, nice work !
sjordan2 Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 VERY nice, Bernie. Excellent detail work inside and out. Good thing you keep it garaged - you wouldn't want snow on it.

Sixties Sam Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Very good looker! It has a 1960's custom look that's just right. Great wheel covers, too! Sam
Draggon Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 I second all of the above! I really love the old el caminos done up like yours!
W-409 Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 Nice Camino! This is one of my favourite Camino models, and your build looks amazing. Paintjob is very beautiful and nice grille on the front! I like those taillights too and interior is very nicely done. Everything is done nicely, this is maybe the best El Camino, i have seen built...
