Chuck Most Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Here's the 'Bench work for this one... http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=40167 And here's the finished result. I added a cut-down '33 Willys grille with spotlights from a '49 Merc kit for headlamps, and cut an air cleaner in half to serve as brake cooling ducts- mostly to cover up the big, ugly notches in the axle! I'm outta here- It's Miller time!
Jantrix Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Yeah. I dig it. Excellent work. I'd love to see it setting up next to my Junkyard Rod. What a pair they'd make.
JohnnnyKaye Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Looks great! And it's making me want a Miller Lite, too!
Chris C Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Sweet, great work with the Olds rear end, great idea! That's the great thing about these rods, anything goes! Well done!
Dr. Cranky Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Beautiful job on January's model, Chuck, on to February. Your homework assignment is to do one model per month and then do a calendar in December! Who says so? Doctor Cranky, that's who. Seriously, chap, you are building some killer rides!
jeffs396 Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 Yet another cool, imaginative build from Chuck!
Harry P. Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 Wicked...heres your tune!! Speaking of "In a Gadda da Vida"... Here's an absolutely true story. When I was a kid I was on a local soccer team. We were supposed to be having practice one day, and all of us were there except José Gamboa. We all lived just a block away from the park, so someone said they'd run to José's house to get him (we all called him "Hosie, " BTW...). Anyway... we found out that Hosie said he'd be right out... as soon as he finished listening to "In A Gadda Da Vida"!!! (For all of you kids out there, "In a Gadda da Vida" took up one entire side of the album... 17 minutes). True story and great memory!
Chuck Most Posted January 29, 2011 Author Posted January 29, 2011 Yeah, Harry? Well, my mom went to high school with the Mysterions! Thanks guys! And an extra special thanks to Dr. Cranky, who donated the Orange Blossom kit which made this model possible in the first place.
Harry P. Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 Yeah, Harry? Well, my mom went to high school with the Mysterions! Oh yeah??? Did she know "Question Mark" personally???!!!
Chuck Most Posted January 29, 2011 Author Posted January 29, 2011 Oh yeah??? Did she know "Question Mark" personally???!!! You mean Rudy? Yeah, she knew him. She says the drummer wanted to 'get cozy' with her, too!
Harry P. Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 Are you serious? Your mom really knew him? That is too cool! :(
Chuck Most Posted January 29, 2011 Author Posted January 29, 2011 All true! He was a weirdo even back then, so sayeth my mom!
Harry P. Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 All true! He was a weirdo even back then, so sayeth my mom! Yeah, he claimed he saw dinosaurs and did time travel. Oh wait, it was the '60s, so... yeah...
