Foxer Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 This is fun seeing one of your builds coming together. I'm dropping exclamation points all over the floor here after every photo!
Art Laski Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 This is so much fun to follow along with. Learning from the master!
hemi Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 This Sir is amazing work, some of the best Ive seen,I will however need compensation for my dental bills from were My jaw hit the floor.Build me one and I'll suffer with the damaged teeth and jaw bone. I cant wait to see it complete,But i'll miss the ride of seeing it built.
Modelmartin Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Top notch stuff, John! It is very fun seeing your work come together. Are the plastic frame members stiff enough? I would have used a few brass ones for strength just because I am a clumsy builder and have to make my models strong enough to survive me handling them while building!
Peter Lombardo Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 (edited) Come on John....you are just in a rut now.....and it is getting a little tiring...... all you ever do is scratch-build unique cars, or bikes, to the highest level with perfect paint jobs time and time again. And then if that is not enough, you do this all in record time. Don't you ever get tired of performing at this level all the time? Having said that....very impressive work, yet again! Oh yeah, I think you still owe Curt an explanation on where that "Nosecone" came from....you have me wondering myself....it's not what I think it is, is it? Foxer Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 We caught you on this one, John! Now we all know your builds aren't chiseled from a solid billet of aluminum!
John Teresi Posted February 27, 2011 Author Posted February 27, 2011 Top notch stuff, John! It is very fun seeing your work come together. Are the plastic frame members stiff enough? I would have used a few brass ones for strength just because I am a clumsy builder and have to make my models strong enough to survive me handling them while building! Andy......great question......the frame is flimsy at this point of the build......and so were my other 2 that I built.....but after the engine bay and top frame supports are assembled ......everything ties in together and is very strong......as a mater of fact at last years Victorville ,Ca. show.......I dropped the tub it was in from about 4 feet and just a couple of pieces broke off ......it was an easy fix ......but, man I thought the thing was totally busted up.......... Peter......the nose on the front of my body....... is the nose from a toy rocket that shoot up in the sky......that they sell at the hobby stores......I saw it and looked perfect for what I needed......the other nose`s on the other liners I made ........were kids toy`s that had the shape of a nose cone........it was a lot of work to shape......but, these rocket nose pieces are great.....no work at all.......thank`s
curt raitz Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Yeah Peter...that's the same answer I got from John yesterday at the NNL West, when ya come to think of it...makes perfect sense doesn't it fantastic display John, you're an inspiration to all of us modelers that play with cars... plus photographs cannot describe the level of detail and finish work that goes into your models
