DanR Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 I just read about this forum in the current issue of Model Cars and so I signed up. I'm a semi-regular on Scale Auto's board. I've been modeling for 20+ years now and I'm mainly a box stock guy who does it just to relax and have fun. Here's my most recent build. I'm still on the fence about adding decals to it. - Dan
Alyn Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 Looks like you know your way around the paint booth. Nice clean looking build.
trogdor Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 I like it just the way it is with no decals
Greg Pugh Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 I think I saw this over at the other website. Nice looking car. Welcome to this place!
DanR Posted February 20, 2011 Author Posted February 20, 2011 Alyn, Painting is still a hit or miss proposition for me after all these years. Sometimes I still do a terrible job. This was painted with Testor's Brass airbrush ready Metalizer. I used it purely on a whim and I ended up loving the end result. The interior was painted with a $1 can of Wal Mart Color Place red. The engine is also a Testors Metalizer - this time Burnt Iron. I chose this color strictly as a contrast to the brass body. I like the overall result. Thanks for the compliment!
Draggon Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 Welcome! Yea, I saw this over there too, but I'll say again, great build, I LOVE the color!
Carmikeman Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 looks great just the way it is. seems like decals would take away the effect of the build. great job!!!
Foxer Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 (edited) Welcome to the forum and nice, clean looking build. Building just for fun is what it's all about! And nice to see Reading ... just south a bit. Edited February 20, 2011 by Foxer
