The last Beetle I built was in about 1969, so I figured it was time for another one. I got this Revell ragtop model from ebay, and built it totally stock. It has a lot of fiddly little pieces, but went together fairly well. The color scheme (Krylon Banner Red) closely matches a real VW convertible owned by a guy near my home. The old beetles are cool!

I've had this unbuilt kit for a few years, it's never endeared me enough to build it but you have a very smart looking piece there. Maybe until now I've just never seen a good build up of it. Nice job.

I too have had this kit for years now but the design and look of the convertible boot always put me off. Your build certainly has done the kit justice and moved it up a couple of notches on my to-do list. Thank you for the inspiration.
