customsrus Posted July 4, 2011 Author Posted July 4, 2011 ok did some work to the intake manifold and carbs. Added more tubing to the cross ram to make it higher (bottom of carbs where hitting valve covers). Added some details to carbs such as gas inlets and vacuum ports. Also modified the brass tubed intake with a different mounting flanges for the carbs. Now which intake do I use? Decisions, Decisions.
W-409 Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 I like them both, but I think, I agree with Mike. That one just looks better. And project is very interesting, keep it going. I want to see this one finished. Your talents are awesome, all of the modifications, and scratch made parts just look very cool!
Art Laski Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Very nice customizing! Can't wait to see more. -Art
customsrus Posted July 29, 2011 Author Posted July 29, 2011 Got the chassis painted and worked on the exhaust. Had to shorten the exhaust to fit the modified chassis.
TexasFinest Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Great looking build! Looking forward to seeing it completed.
streetracer Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 This looks really good, cant wait to see it finished. Keep going

Thumper Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Fantastic......completely off the wall....I love it !!
Chuck Most Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 SHAME ON ME for not checking in on this build more often! I can't pick a favorite intake setup, they're both mind-blowing. Might need to try such a setup on one of my hot rod models.
crazyjim Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 How did I miss this build before? Nice work going on.
customsrus Posted October 6, 2011 Author Posted October 6, 2011 Well I dont have alot to update. I been working on the 68 Banshee and the mid engine corvette, but now they are complete time to get back to this build. Was looking at the body today and I see that the body has warped, when it is on the frame and on all fours you can not tell it, but sitting the body down on its own, man it looks bad. Dont know whether to fix it or just make the best of it. What do you think.
customsrus Posted October 26, 2011 Author Posted October 26, 2011 Well I tried to fix this twisted body using warm water to twist back into shape. But with no luck, but it did crack in several places so I had to get out the saw and start hacking, hopefully I can safe this. Will post pictures of progress asap. Wish me luck
cortinanut Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Hope you can solve the warp and cracks. This is a phenomenal model! I'm not usually into custom stuff, but this stands to be a mind-blower.
Dr. Cranky Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Outstanding work. I'm loving this thread. Keep it going.
mopar68 Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 How cool is that?! I love everything about it Shame about the warping and cracks, keep at it though, cos you've got a winner there.
customsrus Posted October 28, 2011 Author Posted October 28, 2011 Well ended up having to slice and dice this front end to make it look right. Will have to work on the wheel arches, but it looks much better to me. Thanks Before After Drivers Side Passenger side
customsrus Posted October 28, 2011 Author Posted October 28, 2011 Couple more pictures before any putty was added. Also body is sitting on frame.
hotrod66c10 Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 man i hope you can fix it. these trucks are one of my favorit subjects to build 1;1 and in 1;24 scale. i fliped when i seen you started the build.
pharr7226 Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Very impressive repair of the warp. Where did you cut it?
customsrus Posted February 18, 2012 Author Posted February 18, 2012 have not posted anything new on this build in awhile, I have been busy looking for a new job hope to get back to work and working on models soon. Thanks for looking.
