Zoom Zoom Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 This is a model I built several years ago, and tonight I finally got around to replacing a missing side marker lamp and cleaning it up and getting much better photos of it than the first time around. While a real Mazdaspeed RX8 is a rare sight, Fujimi did an okay job with theirs but like all their RX8 kits, the front end shapes are a bit off. I still enjoyed building it, it's painted in light gunmetal with a cobalt blue pearl overcoat then clear. It's pretty much OOB.
Foxer Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 The brake disks look exceptionally good on this. They have the right sheen and even some hint of radial score lines.
Chuck Most Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 I really like the RX8, this is the first one I've seen in quite a while. From the 'guy-on-a-ladder' viewpoint, the front end kind of reminds me of a Honda S2000 (meant in a good way!) I wish all the modern Mazdas looked more like this.
nismo Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Anyone know where to find this or another kit like it? I am looking for (unbuilt) rx-8 myself. But it seems this is a fairly hard to find kit online
pharr7226 Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 As always, fantastic work. It looks even better in person. Your panel lines always look deep, dark, and clean. It's a theoretically simple task, but I always seem to struggle with it. Great job Bob!
