Ben Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 Just Pleeeeeaaaase don't over dramatize this movie like they have been with every other movie and TV show over the past few years!!!!!!!!!!

Dragline Posted March 19, 2014 Author Posted March 19, 2014 Went straight to video, is the end of that sentence.............. Bob
Dave Van Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Was only shown in large cities......my buddy in LA saw it in a theater......I'll watch DVD as we don't get many films as there is no theater in our county!!!
Daddyfink Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Went straight to a dumpster, should be the end of that sentence
DavidChampagne Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Has it come out on video?I don't really expect much from the Movie except for maybe footage of the older cars.
DrKerry Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 I'd like to see it but haven't seen it anywhere to get it....
shucky Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Available on DVD April 8th. Says right on the movie website.
High octane Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Well if some of you hope that the movie is "done right," the way to guarantee that is to put up YOUR money and have the movie done EXACTLY the way YOU want it done. VERY simple, just remember the part about YOUR money.
Daddyfink Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 They had a budget of only $4 Million to work with. Most of the scenes are made using Cackle Cars and Restored cars. Not too many of them where used. Most old footage, original, is footage that has been out there for quite some time. Nothing new. Almost all of it was shot at Famoso Dragstrip in Bakersfield. With some creative CGI or Props, they managed to recreate the starting line at LIons. This could have been edited way better and creatively to stretch out the dollars available. I have seen student films with almost zero budgets look better than this one. Real shame because it is a good story that should have been told better. Better acting would have also helped. It looks like an after school T.V. Special. If you are old like me, you know what I am talking about.
Greg Cullinan Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 I don't care if it's a cartoon. I'll check it out. Of course I'll wait for it to be free.
Ben Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Just Pleeeeeaaaase don't over dramatize this movie like they have been with every other movie and TV show over the past few years!!!!!!!!!! Just like I expected! Way too much storyline about thier personal lives to turn it into a soap opera!!!!! They could have used WAY more racing footage!! So sick of these movies trying to jam as much needless drama down your throught as possible!!!!!
Ben Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Also, all that money invested and they couldn't afford to at least put a piece of white vinyl of the "II" after the word "Mongoose" on Tom's car. Sad!
Mike 1017 Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 (edited) Seeing the videos from The NHRA archives is worth sitting through all the BAD acting. Along with the credits there is some really KOOL stuff. Edited April 6, 2014 by Mike 1017
FASTBACK340 Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Funny this should pop up; I was almost ready to post a question if anyone sat through this movie yet? I heard the buzz before it came out when it was released boom…… *crickets* <sigh….> I wish a better director did it, such as Ron Howard.
Daddyfink Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 It has been covered here http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=43942&hl=snake

DavidChampagne Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Just bought the DVD at Walmart for $10. It is not a high budget film, but, I liked it. I would recommend it to anyone that has been a longtime drag fan. Some great old footage. Lots of restored dragsters. Except for the guy playing the reporter with the bad wig and fake mustache, the acting is not all that bad. Even had a few shots of Jungle Pam and Linda Vaughn. Well worth $10.....LOL
