jbwelda Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Hey Bob i just saw the article on the miata/jaguar d-type and i have to say that is one incredible concept. works perfectly. looks great! how about you post some pics here or in the "under glass" section (maybe you did and i missed it?). just wanted to throw down some kudos because that is one ingenious (sp) model! and a combo of two of my favorite cars might i add!
Zoom Zoom Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Hey Bob i just saw the article on the miata/jaguar d-type and i have to say that is one incredible concept. works perfectly. looks great! how about you post some pics here or in the "under glass" section (maybe you did and i missed it?). just wanted to throw down some kudos because that is one ingenious (sp) model! and a combo of two of my favorite cars might i add! Thanks! I guess I can put it on the forums now that it has been published. The entire concept of the build just kind of happened one night when I was comparing the Lindberg D-Type body (I bought one intending to build it) and the Miata. They were so close in size, shape, layout, that I figured "why not?" and that's all it took. Glad you like it, I like how it came out too. Best part was, aside from the cutting/blending of the body, it was a dead-simple curbside build that didn't take forever to go from concept to execution.
peter31a Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 I have to second this sentiment. It is a really cool concept and it turned out beautifully. Would also love to see more pics of it.
mikemodeler Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 I will add a third and also state that Bob has a knack for combining some cars into great "Why don't they build that?" vehicles! That Mustang/Camaro/Challenger combo from awhile back is another one of those great builds. I have similar visions, I just can't make them happen like you do Bob and my hat is off to you! I can't wait to see what you cook up next.
Hoosierfarmboy Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 I too liked the combo Miata and the tri-pony cars unit. Formerly lived in the Hall county area of Georgia in the late 80s and early 90s. Was probably in Tucker some as I was a copier field tech. Enjoyed the area greatly. So greeting from Hoosierland. Hope to revisit area someday.
Chuck Most Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 I like Bob's rendition much better than the actual Mazda concept!
